Awesome cat. The butler's good, but I think I like the second to last one more than the last one. Anyway, good job!

Been out of it for the last couple of weeks, what with GDC and taking a little trip to Europe with my wife, but I'm back and working on some more pixelling. Today was a warm-up to get back into the habit of pixelling, and a first attempt at a simple animation:

Also, if you've been wondering if the stuff I've been working on was for anything specific, I've put up a devlog for the game where most of these will end up.

@Solarlune: I think I agree on the butler, I made the last one a little wider to fill in more of the 32x32 grid, but that makes him look a little too chunky.

Extra Bonus: Based on a game idea hatched during GDC...

What did you animate this with?

Graphics Gale. It's cheap, and making animations in it is really easy:

Relatively quick one today, a couple of cannon.

The body of the cannon and the foot are separate, which will come in useful when I put them in game maker, since the barrel can swivel independently without the need for further animation. Actually shooting will be a different matter.

Been a while, but here's me getting back in the saddle.

A pygmy flying shark-thing that flies around in flocks like aerial schools of piranha. They are bio-engineered weapons sent to terrorise settlements, and can be seen swarming in the sky and piling down on prey out in the wasteland.

That's a crazy idea, and the sprite is very nice. Well done!

Been quite a while, with tons of stuff distracting me from keeping up with this, but I'm back, once again intending to post something every day.

Still WIP, but I think this may be proof that I've been watching too much Wuxia (chinese martial arts movies).

EDIT: And here's the finished version:

Feedback and criticism welcome, as always. Smiley

Extra Bonus -

A very angry egg ronin with a bone to pick. I'll probably redo this guy with a more organised pallette and a more interesting samurai helmet, but I think he came out relatively decent.

They're all pretty cool! I like the egg ronin guy - the shine's well done, and the fighter's pretty cool, as well. I think there could be more shading on the conical part of the ronin character, and the fighter could use some shading, but they're overall pretty good!

I really enjoy that ronin sprite he looks awesome and his helmet is so shiny, I think you should animate him running because he is so awesome!

Hey, thanks for the comments and feedback, I really appreciate it:)

@SolarLune: Agreed, shading is still something I'm having to force myself to remember to do (as well as using a pallette picker). I did spend a fair time on both of them, so I guess I need to work harder at making it more noticeable.

@iEnjoyFreeBacon: Yeah, at some point I'll probably have to go back and animate a lot of these, probably once I have them closer to 'good enough to ship'. Looking back at the file where I keep these all together, the first ones I did could use a remake Smiley

For today, I'm working on a mockup for an iOS icon for Sword Surfer:

Yes, work is still ongoing on Sword Surfer,
just haven't had much to announce recently, but I'll
be resuscitating the devlog soon.
