Entry Three
I've added a second level, this time with platforming!

Entry Two
Because I have other projects on the go right now, this one is progressing rather slowly. I put some dedicated time into it over the past couple of days though, I now have a nearly complete first level, with the boss, and a working main menu (Though the only visible options are "Start" and "Quit")

Entry One
I've had an idea buzzing around in my head about an NES style space shooter where instead of a gun, your hero gets a sword. I had put it on the backburner to focus on my webcomic and freelance work, but I got an email from a musician named Jamie Billings who liked my previous game (Kaya Loves Mushrooms) and wanted to collaborate. So I had an excuse to do it ^^

I threw together a slapdash demo of the first level today, which you can download here: (480Kb Windows EXE) It's all development art right now, and it's buggy as heck, (And the end of level boss is still missing) but I think it feels right.

Let me know what you think. I'll update as I work on this more

Nifty. Is the sword propelling him through the air as well?

That was my original thought, but since the mechanics ended up with him throwing the sword, I think it would have been annoying to start falling every time you attack. So in this case, he has a rocket and a sword, not a rocketsword, though that would be cool
