I always wanted to create games, but then I chose another line of work.
I recently got a bit of time of my hands and I made my first game ever realizing one of my life dreams..

I think it has a cool mechanic which may be a little hard to understand at first, but then it's a lot of fun (at least I have fun with it Wink).

Basically shapes comes toward you, you have to rotate the whole "universe" to put them in the right spot, 1-2-3-4 repels their own kind of shape since after level 4 things get a little messy. Remember that you can speed up time with the up arrow when you get a grasp of the concept (and the down arrow to slow it down when things get overwhelming).

It's free on the chrome web store.

TRAILER (Contains F-Word): http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=8zx9_n_acQQ

If people like it I'll make a "plus" version with other gamemode, I would like your honest feedback (but be gentle! please it's my first game!)

Looks interesting enough from the Trailer, I'll pass on testing/playing it though. I'm not gonna install the dataminer Chrome on my system. Is there any way you can make it available on other browsers?

I second the above comment. I'd try it if it wasn't Chrome only.  Sad

Why all this Chrome bashing?
Currently chrome with its propietary v8 engine and full hardware accelerated webGL it's the only viable solution for steady framerates in html5 games.

I'm not a fan of the obligatory techno-pop soundtrack.  An option to at least mute it would be nice.  The actual mechanics of the game are interesting but I think it would be more intuitive to rotate the planet rather than the universe around it.  Of course, that's a design decision so stick with what makes sense to you.  And you may want to split your "How to Play" page into a "Story" page with the back story about the fate of humankind and a page that strictly gives instructions on how to play the game.  Overall, nice effort, especially for first game.

Agree with red hickory that the planet should be the one rotating.  It's really confusing because visually it doesn't look like you're really controlling the shapes so it's kind of off-putting.

I'm personally not a fan of the rather long-winded story/tutorial as well.  I'm sure it was a whole lot of fun to think up and do the voice acting though!

Good first try, keep it up!

I played up until about 1200 points, and then I died.

I really like the music, and I think the way you read the How-To is awesome.

My main suggestion would be to add the arrow-controls to the main game screen somewhere maybe.

Just knowing right away that the UP arrow speeds it up would have been great, but I played up to 1000+ points not knowing this and it felt so slow Sad  I just now went back and played again knowing about the UP arrow and it was a little better experience.

Thanks to everybody.

@RedHickory you can mute the music in the options screen.

I thought that the tutorial/lore thing was a cool idea but most people seem to dislike it, I'll be sure to add a quick command list on the splash screen.
About the rotation you may be right, but I think it's a novel concept to move everything else instead of the player, you know what I mean? I'll make some tests in this regard and see how it plays.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing Chrome. I've just had better experiences with FF, and I'm trying not to clutter my computer with stuff I don't use.
