Hello everybody.
This is my first post here and I am excited to get some feedback on my game "Slime OnlineČ".

This game has been in development for a few years now...with some breaks in between development cycles. I am the programmer, graphics artist ...well, the only person working on this game (at least for the moment).

So, I will try to explain Slime OnlineČ.

Slime OnlineČ is a simple community based online jump n run.
You play as a small Slime (duh) and explore a lot of maps (>100 right now), collect points and meet other Slimes.

The game features the following:

  • retro graphics and retro music
  • realtime day/night cycle
  • a gigantic world to explore
  • a race system in dungeons to race for the best time and awards
  • planting system - Plant seeds and let it grow into a full tree to harvest it later
  • user signatures ->
  • quest system
  • unique communication system - Chatting in citys, emotes on general maps
  • community based city upgrading
  • evolving collectibles - Ex. a mushroom -> 3 hours -> squishy mushroom -> 2 hours -> rotten mushroom
  • outfits / accessories
  • hidden items depending on realtime
  • mail system - Players can send mails to each other ingame
  • lots of cameos (evangelion heads as unlockable decorations, megaman/rockman helmets, ...)
  • bulletin board system ingame
  • building system - ex. Players can attach canons to the ground to shoot themself to higher ground
  • ...lots more to come

So, yeah...thats it.
Due to my work (IT-Specialist for program development) I didn't have much time working on this project lately....but I revived it about a week ago and will continue working on it.

Here are some older videos

And a couple of screens:

And finally the download link:
Direct Download
Client updater (recommended)

Please make sure to extract all files before running the game.
On the server select screen please choose the upper left server, the one on the bottom right is my local testing server and is not reachable for other players.

Also make sure to check/set your controls (Hint: F9 -> fullscreen ...ingame only)

Oh, and here is the link to our forum...pretty silent right now cause the long break Sad

I was a somewhat active user when slime online was out, came back when 2 was announced, saw the project was dead and lost all hope.

Don't play with my emotions like this BlaXun.

I don't intend to... and I am sorry. But I changed my profession and had to look for a new job. Now I got my new job but we had lost some employees and I had to fill in...hard times without freetime...thats my "excuse" Sad

Hi BlaXun,

First some commentary, followed by a question, followed by some constructive criticism:

It is very nice to see that this project is still alive. I was a fan of the first itteration, Slime Online, and am very much looking forward to trying out Slime OnlineČ. The screenshots look very promising, and it looks like everything has been much improved upon. The graphics look, in my opinion, fairly professional.

My question is: Are you still using Gamemaker to produce this game, or are you using something like C++ or C# or another language? Just a matter of curiosity, anwser if you wish but I understand too if you want to keep it under wraps for any reason.

My constructive criticism is that you may wish to find a way to keep the server up 24/7, or at least post a schedule as to when it will be online and available to play (Even if the schedule is tentative). As of yet, I have not been able to actually play the game, and this is likely why there is little to no feedback for you yet.

As well, congratulations on the new job.

I remember this game! Wow, amazing to see it's alive, like my past is coming to say hello.

This was during the GameMaker online game boom around 2006, right? Anyways, I'm very curious to see where this game's gone.

Are you still adopting the design philosophy of no chat outside those chat rooms?
