Also, if a comic involves anthropomorphic animals, is it considered a furry comic?
Only if they are sexualized So you think every furry comic is about furries having sex or beeing in love or what? That's so sad. Furries aren't as horny as you think. I am just saying that works containing anthropomorphic animals arent furry by default.

So Walt Disney was a furry I guess? And Brian Jacques? And Kenneth Grahame? I mean, anthropomorphic animals are just kind of an element of some kinds of fiction, especially children's fiction. That doesn't imply that the author or the viewership/readership actually have some extensive fascination with that particular element. I mean, I don't really care that much, but I thought "furry" connoted that anthropomorphic animals were, like, a significant criterion on which a person decides whether they like art or not. Perhaps this is wrong?

Don't forget Bugs Bunny, who had a habit of cross-dressing.

Furry fandom (also known as furrydom, fur fandom or furdom) refers to the fandom for fictional anthropomorphic animal characters with human personalities and characteristics. Don't tell me Disney has no furries.

Wait, this doesn't mean I'm a furry, does it? I guess it's better just not to talk about this sort of thing...

Um, why? Thats like when people say they aren't gay when they in fact (definition-wise) are. Ok, maybe a bit too offensive. Mental illness! There are so many ones you can't deny you have one. Of course nobody cares, but people tend to avoid talking about it even if everybody can definitely say "You are <insert psychological word for stuff that happens to everyone>!". Come on guys, it's just a bunch of words categorizing stuff for limited people. I could call everyone a furry who liked Disney's movies featuring humanized animals. It just doesn't matter. OMFZG I'M FURRY CUZ I'VE FAVED THIS PICTURE ON DEVIANTAAAAAAAAARRT That's pissing me SO off. Spreading you shitty stereotypes on everything doesn't make the world better.

Good choice, furry mate.
(That's somehow ambiguous, istn't? I don't even know if the last sentence refers to me or Ashkin.)

Why would you think that comparing being furry to being mentally ill would be less offensive than comparing it to being gay? I find that very telling.

Not to mention that he jumped from homosexuality to mental illness in a manner of implied magnitude.

That's because they are all three things which often get ignored or hated. Not because they have anything to do with eachother. Most people will start beeing aggressive when you say they're gay (in almost every case), but if you say them they're mentally ill they will just say "no" or "what?" followed by some kind of conversation. I find that very telling.
Yeah? And? I AM gay, I know what I'm talking about without making wrong level comparisons. I find it very telling that YOU think I thought it's not less offensive. Do you think beeing gay is a mental illness? Why is it not less offensive? Eh? EH? Don't you think gay people don't like beeing stamped as atleast equally offensive as mental illness? Also, I admit I'm a furry. Often, not always. I don't know if I'm mentally ill; according to my previous post, everybody is mentally ill. Don't you think about what you're reading? I'm setting up my eristic dialogs and it just not works. Anyway, beeing gay is always something people usually brutally deny. Beeing mentally ill not. Atleast were I live.

Ah, this must be the source of confusion. I am surrounded by people who are not bothered by homosexuality. However mental illness is, by definition, bad.

However mental illness is, by definition, bad. in my experience, of the people i know with serious mental illnesses, they're far less likely to tell people that than the people i know who are homosexual. i don't mean minor ones like phobias or depression, but serious ones like paranoid schizophrenia and OCD and dyslexia and such.
