I am pretty sure Halo is done like this aswell, as much as any engine you will find out there. I am a game-developer with highest technical-quality demands. I have to know.

all of this ignores the fact that halo, modern warfare, and indeed most popular console FPS games are essentially piles of shit excreted by small mammals with dysfunctional families who despite their welfare checks and disability aids cannot get by as they tend to spend all excess acorns or similar food at the local dog track betting on long shots and getting drunk until they collapse alone in an alley next the the big oak tree where they had their first kiss all those years ago wondering how life got so tedious and dark and then silence falls

I checked out Halo4 for a rent and played through the campaign. It feels like the worst Halo so far. The game-mechanics are a clumsy mess of incompetence. It is also obvious to me that the level-designers don't understand gameplay-geometry. The campaign is a poorly designed pipe of repetetive nonsense. The menu-designs are incomplete. In short it feels like it is the first time a bunch of intelligent greenhorns are trying to make their first game.

Yeah the campaign was very mediocre. I played about 4 hours of versus multiplayer with 8 people, and it's a lot of fun (most aspects of it are an improvement over Halo Reach's). But it could do with a lot more maps.

What has made me most weary about buying new Halo games is the gradual reduction in the number and quality of multi player maps.  What I hated about Reach was how basically ever map was ripped straight out of the campaign the small adjustments (although forge-world was nice).

Played a bit of the campaign and multiplayer at a friends house. More story (not better, just more), better graphics (no more weird lighting from Reach), new weapons. Pretty much what everyone expected.

Just out of curiosity, why do we even have a thread on this? Halo and COD are like the most AAA games out there. This is an indie games forum. Not saying it's bad, just a little out of place.

J-Snake arguments seems legit to me not because his right, but because his avatar is bruce lee.  Durr...?

Anyway, i'm playing halo 4 co op campaign in legendary, and so far the worst thing to me is the story. This halo just doesn't care and keep throwing lots of names and pseudo-science in my face and making no sense of it. What kind of script is that?
And besides that the level design has some flaws here and there, but let you approach it in lots of way, which leads to just plain fun with strategies.  
Also, sprint is not a skill anymore. Thank God
