So are there any other game making competitions/events in October/November that we should be aware of before deciding on a date?

That little challenge... shouldn't stand in the way. It's not a game making event per se, it's just a sell your game thing.

Off-topic for current planning, but I'd love to see another Adult/Educational competition. Or just an Adult one. Not a whole lot of places that hold these competitions are receptive to the whole "adult content" thing, so seeing the compo here makes it a bit unique.

It seems that on November 9th-17th will be a Jam about the genre you hate. http://fuckthisjam.com/Even so, if the compo is dated after that, there won't be a problem, right?

There is always a jam, or a competition, or an event going on somewhere. I don't think we should worry about what other things are happening at the same time or we'll never have another TIGCompo.

Guys I saw a pretty amazing thread here which really got my imagination going. Would anyone be interested in a HorseComp with titles taken from lists like these??

I was just thinking it would be a neat to have a compo with some pretty strict rules - your game must load a plaintext file containing two ints separated by an endline, and then save two ints upon completion (or during play). Call it the savegame compo... and then run through folks' games to see how the ints are used, could even make that a separate compo to see who comes up with the most entertaining story about their two numbers.
/bitwise operations ftw

What about a compo where you must design a game inspired by a famous art piece or artist. (Dali, Vincent Van Gogh, etc.) I'd imagine the ear slicing sims and cubist platformers would be a plenty.

It's been a while now since the last #TIGCompo. I think it's about time we had a new one. Here's my suggestion. Bootleg Movie Tie-inDuring the Bootleg Demakes compo it was suggested that the theme could also be applied to video game film licenses. The idea is to choose a film and make the game for that film. No need to demake it this time though, just make the best movie tie-in you can. Of course we don't want to violate anyone's IP so that's where the bootleg part comes in.

I'd be totally into making a Betman or Corporal Guatemala game.
