I still want a Game Club for one of the Paradox games. I know we wouldn't get a lot of players, but even if it's just like 3-4 people I think it would be a lot of fun.

either of the Dead Rising games would make pretty good Game Clubs.

Tell me about a Paradox game that should be part of the games club. Having never played any of them, I would try one.

Which one would we play, and where / how much does it take to acquire?

I would say Crusader Kings, simply because it's the most conducive for hilarious stories and is the easiest to learn.

It's like $10.

Games that are multiplayer would be good. People can get together and play with whoever's available.

But watercooler games, with tons of crap to find and discuss, are probably the best.
Free or cheap.

I suggest Hydra Castle Labyrinth. Upgradetroidvanias are good for this kind of thing. But probably not right after LaMulana.

Also good:
Deus Ex 1
Isaac (for the people who haven't totally blown through it)
At least 1 classic adventure game, or an indie adventure game? MI3, Gemini Rue, something else?

Also good would be something like Riven, where a lot of the puzzles require writing things down and discussing might be really helpful.

if you're into deus ex you're gonna love bloodlines as well (with fan patches ofc). also the most goth game ever created.

btw: pathologic is something i have wanted to try for ages. it's not on any legal download service i can use, but i could get a used copy from amazon for under 1 euro(!)

Bloodlines is pretty amazing. One of my favorite RPGs. Probably more of a spiritual successor to Fallout 2 than Fallout 3. And now that patches are out, technical problems are not an issue anymore.

What about some old RPG classic that doesn't take too long to finish, like the early Ultima games. Ultima IV is even freeware.
