I agree with superb joe, I know myself well enough to know that I go through phases of liking and disliking certain things and I wouldn't want something that is there forever, I would begin to hate it.

Thought about them, I like the idea, but as above I'd have to come up with something pretty damn good to get it.

But honestly, I don't think tattoos need to be something you'll like forever. Because you aren't going to live forever. So may as well get something if you find something you really like?

I see tattoos as a way of taking a bit of control over a body which we generally have very little control over. It's like customizing the shell that a roll of the dice gave us. Just make sure you aren't drunk or emotionally incapacitated if/when you get one.

Well when I say forever I really mean for the rest of my life. If I like video games now and I get a video game relate tattoo there is a good chance I'm gonna hate it in 30 years

do you know about stick n pokes?  it's a tattoo done with a sterilized (lighter or boiling water) sewing needle, thread (wrapped in a ball at the tip, slightly melted), and ink.  you stick and you poke x1000  they look like shit but they are painfully fun with friends.

I have a stick n poke on my ankle that resembles sperm but is suppose to be a kite.  Me and my partner made one on each other in an airport to commemorate a good summer together.

tattoos can be nice reminders

That is precisely why if I got one I would only do it if I knew the tattoo artist, cause if they fuck up then it's permanent

Not at all. If I am not wrong you can remove it with a cirurgy.

I wanted a tattoo awhile ago, but I figured I'm young and there's no rush so I'll wait a year and if I still want it then I'll get it (I had a specific thing in mind).

A year passed, I no longer wanted it. So I didn't get it.

I figure if there's any tattoo worth having, that I can wait a year and still want it. So far after 4 years I haven't settled on anything worth having. Seriously doubt I'll ever get one, but if I do I want to be damn sure I want it.

There are ways to get tattoos removed but it is never as clean and simple as you think. It is also not cheap. So if the tattoo artist misspells one tiny word then I have to go get surgery. No thanks.

I've wanted to for years. Problem is I'm a complete whimp when it comes to needles. So I can't see it happening in the near future...

I never said it wasn't a bummer, I just wanted to tell that it isn't really "forever".

I don't think I'd ever get one. The fact that I'm a huge Kirby fanboy for example, doesn't mean I want Kirby on my skin, it's not even the fact that I may stop liking it at some point in my case.

They look cool in other people, I just don't think I'd like on me. Kind of like piercings and dyed hair in that sense.

Yea. I think plugs look awesome, but the idea of having a massive hole in my ear just freaks me out.

It goes in deeper than I expected. I figured it would be like drawing with a pen or something, but you can see a noticeable length of metal go into your skin.
