Hi everyone!

I'm here to introduce you my little home made project: UMAD, a wanabee portal-like game made with unity.

And you can test it right here http://www.landofthebytes.com/UMAD/UMAD.html!

Use the arrows key to move, the E key to grab or drop a cube, space to jump, and left click to fire a projectile you can use to rocket jump!

Well, ok, now, you should have openened my link, and noticed it's far from perfect ...
Well, it's kinda still work in progres!

I intend, in the futur, to add a lot of gravity-related features. Like desactivating the gravity applied to a cube, modify the direction vector of the gravity and things like that.

There won't be any foes in this game, it would be all about gravity use, speed conservation by bunny and rocket jumping, and solving gravity puzzle with mind and skill.

Hope you'll end to like it and i thank you for your attention!

runs well.

it doesn't really feel like rocket jumping as the force seems to be put on gradually rather than an instant shove. this may be as intended as I could also get 2 bounces from the same explosion implying it wasn't an explosion at all.

the lack of textures really hampered my ability to judge distances, making predictions for movement quite difficult

the level may be a little too open to really get to grips with for new players, you may want to start more enclosed while you allow the player to learn the control, although i'm sure this is just a test level it felt a little overwhelming

looking good, i'd like to see where you take this

Hi everyone, I'm back and not empty-handed!
Here a new version of my game : http://www.landofthebytes.com/UMAD/UMAD.html.

I took your remark into account and brought some modifications to my game according to it.
Now the rocket's force is only applied to one frame.

I also corrected a lot of things. For instance, the character's movements aren't slippery anymore, the projectile's velocity correctly inherits from the character's one, you can use the G key to throw the cube you're holding.

You can now right click to change the projectile's behavior.

Explosion : Well, it explodes, and you can use this explosion to rocket jump.
Nullify : Nullifies the gravity's forces applied to one object. If you shoot it again, the gravity reverts to its former value.
Linked : Linked objects attract or repulse each other. You can modify the value that's linking the elements with the mouse wheel.

You can also pushed the button to alter the gravity.

Hope you'll like the changes and thanks for your attention!

It was fun to bounce around in for a bit. Once you get some objectives going, you'll have a pretty good game here.

One problem I had was that I couldn't exit out of it. I pressed esc and regained control of my cursor, but I when I tried to click "back" or close the tab, the game grabbed control again. Had to alt-tab out.

I'm aware of this problem, but I've no idea how to solve it as it's Unity way of handling the mouse inside a web browser.

Also, I'm really sorry about that, but I didn't notice there was a "devlogs" childboard.

As my game is far from being finished, I think this topic should belong there but I have no idea how to move it by myself.
If a moderator could hear my voice and grant my wish, I would much appreciate.

Hi everyone!

I'm sorry to dust off my own topic, but I'm bringing some news!

So, I didn't manage to add a lot of stuff recently, as I learned a lot about texturing, uv wrapping, blender and other things like that.

Also, I recently discovered that you could edit the Unity editor, in order to make, for instance, a level editor.

Wich is exactly what I'm currently trying to achieve.

As you can see, I can add my game's elements directly on the grid, which I can move around with key input.
My user interface is kinda lame but I'll clean and upgrade it later.

Also, I think I'm going to write some tutorials about Unity programming, as the Editor scripting is not that documented on Unity script reference.

Hope you'll end by enjoy my work,

see ya!
