This game has just gone gold and is coming out next month so I figured it'd be a good idea to make a thread for it. Grimrock, in case you haven't heard of it, is essentially a modernized version of Dungeon Master. It's an indie game and is being developed by a couple ex-Remedy Entertainment (of Max Payne / Death Rally / Alan Wake fame) employees. I can't think of anything else to write so check out these screenshots:

I was excited about this, but the realtime + those controls kinda kill it for me.

I still keep reading this as Legend Of Grimlock which would be a pretty awesome game in its own now that I think about it.

Until I read your post I actually thought the game was called Legend of Grimlock!! Either I'm really bad at reading or I don't pay enough attention to what I'm reading.

The backgrounds look really flat to me. I know they're not, but I feel like they are just a wooden backdrop that the monsters stand in front of.
It's a really offputting effect
