Get ready for....

FACETIOUSLY LINEAR GAMEPLAY with MULTIPLAY

FACTS:

You can play many games at once with the same input!

1D Pong will be playable.

1D Tetris will not be.

1D Pac Man will probably be playable but not very fun.

future plans include: 1D space invaders, 1D street fighter, 1D cave story, DDR pogostick edition

more games to come.

My first compo. I doubt I'll finish this.

Is the screen going to loop in 1d pacman?

Is every brick a line in tetris?

I actually made a 1D tetris a while back, called it Unitris. The game itself was stupid, but the thought process did lead to Alleytris.

DDRPogo could actually work. It's not going to be as much of a challenge as the original, granted, but I actually think it's got merit.

The rest I have a hard time seeing.

Due to strategic downsizing, 1D supercade deluxe has been reduced to one game.

Just DDR pogo stick edition :p. I edited the first post. Check it out.

I'm taking a new, very B-game-ish direction with this.

The original 1D supercade deluxe would take a lot of very precise programming to get everything to work together seamlessly. I was going to make it possible to play all 5 games at once with the same input just for the chaos. Seeing how I put this whole thing off until a week before the deadline, my original idea might not pan out so well anymore. So last night during my insomnia, I decided to scrap all that and just make DDR pogo stick edition w/ official hardware. The programming for this game is almost intentionally haphazard. I forced myself to not-fix a bug just a while ago hehehe. I'm reworking my half-finished SDL engine in the most bastardized way possible to be able to finish this game as fast as I can. Everything about this game is going to be a glorious train wreck Smiley.

I might make 1D pong if I have time. The gameplay for that was what inspired me to do 1D supercade deluxe so I owe it to finish it.

Wouldn't it have been easier to rig a pogostick that registered jumps?

I could see this game being good for jump ropers.

The game itself is oh-so-cool, but the pogo-stick video made it even better. Seriously. I laughed until I cried!

Thanks everyone! I'm glad my first "game" is so well received. I wasn't sure, I had to cut the quality down a lot because my carpal tunnel was coming back with a vengeance. I'm already slightly more motivated to work on my next game!

Though, since I just realized the deadline for this contest got pushed back another week, I think I might go and make 1D pong first Smiley.

Wouldn't it have been easier to rig a pogostick that registered jumps?

I could see this game being good for jump ropers.

lol, then there wouldn't be an official controller. Remember I had to borrow the pogostick.

and about being good for jump ropers.... pogosticking is... a lot more tiring than one might imagine... I found out.
