New release with many features! The controls are explained in the tutorial which I encourage you to play through. I added a tutorial, finalkai form and a masquard form in this release, along with some bugfixes and gameplay adjustments. The tutorial covers almost all aspects of gameplay. The masquard form is not yet accesible due to story reasons, but you can press space to try it out. It also has its own Tetsuga Genshou attack. And again, for testing purposes, you can press T to fill your beatdown meter. coming up next: bosses, elite creatures Link: http://willhostforfood.com/files2/338474/whitener.rar

Well, some orange haired female friend of the hero won't be included, but some opponents with big boobs might be...
Because I will be trying to include the Espada as bosses :D

here we go :D arrows: move double tap direction: dash (can't dash on sand) ctrl: attack dash + ctrl: charge up: jump double tap up: double jump dash + up: high jump dash while in air: air dash :D up near a wall: wallclimb release up while wallclimbing: jump this is just a demo, attacks don't hurt the enemies 8and they have no movement/ai), I just wanted to show my graphics and the engine's feel. And the music I made. Link: http://willhostforfood.com/files2/48033/whitener.rar

Heartless :D
On a more helpful note, I liked the demo, although the controls felt a bit jaggy at times (meaning it didn't always quite behave as I expected it).
Once I somehow catapulted myself across half the map. I don't know if that is supposed to be possible, neither could I reproduce it xD

Was that just after double tapping left or right? I thought that was a nifty 'feature' or 'non-bug'.

Yeah, I think it was, but usually it just dashes me a bit or allows me to fly for a second, but what I had was similar to Biocosm. I THINK it was in a combination with dashing and walljumping/climbing.

Yep, that is intended, it's a high jump, the earlier during a dash you jump, the higher you go. The controls are a bit shaky because the hero Niirou is very powerful but he doesn't know how to properly use his power... And this IS a bootleg game :D now you can attack and kill two different types of "empties", creatures that dwell in the realm that is called "vacía mundo"... coming up next: tutorial, bosses, finalkai form, masquard form Link: http://willhostforfood.com/files2/2491329/whitener.rar

The green guy is hilarious :D
Also I had this glitch that I kept on slashing even faster than a charge, after just doing a single slash on one of those small ones.
and it kept on going.

Well there are a few bugs but I took care of them mostly... I even have the "finalkai" down with some other minor features like a "Tetsuga Genshou", but I'm waiting until I add some more features till I release a new demo, should I release this version too?
I'm going to try to add the "masquard" mask thingy and some "inquicias" (exequias) enemies...

A new release! I added everything I promised except for bosses, and then some more stuff :D Try it out, I even have a tutorial with dialogue etc. Please, I want feedback! This game might be fun when it's ready. But did you know that you can stay in the air indefinitelly by nonstop "hardcore spazzing" in the air? I think the hero's stamina should be depleted faster or something like that.

In which mode was your character during that? If it's not normal mode, then it's intended, as in the fights in the anime they have pretty prolonged "jumps", especially in hue... I mean "vacia mundo" against grimmjo... I mean "scrimshaw". Anyone else have any feedback? Any requests? Anything? By the way, new screenshot and logo posted in first post. here is the logo again: I originally planned to have the Hiragana of "WAITANA" at the bottom of the logo but I couldn't get the fonts working.

Any requests?
What are you using to write it? Any chance of a mac version? (I'm pretty sure that I tried it with crossover and it didn't work, alas ). (also: what's it a demake of?)

I'm using game maker 7, and this is my first ever project with game maker so I don't know much about it, but I think it might not be possible to run on Mac... However from what I hear a Mac version of game maker is in the works... It's a demake of the popular (I think currently second most popular in the world) Anime/Manga/Movie/Musical/Video game franchise called... Bleach. http://www.onemanga.com/Bleach/http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bleach_(manga)
