Hey everyone,  I'm Chris from Critter Box Stewdio.  A new dev from Houston, Texas.  Our freshman project is The Long Night, it's basically a Old School RPG (like Mother, Final Fantasy, etc) but with a modern setting during a Zombie Apocalypse.  Currently the game is a very early prototype, so not all of our planned features have been added.  The team working on the game consists of two programmers, a writer, and two pixel artists.  We are currently running a kickstarter to gather funds for equipment, a soundtrack, and to determine how detailed our animation and graphics will be.

Here's a link to our kickstarter that's running at the moment:

If you have two pixel artists, I'd reallllllly suggest getting their art up, rather than the placeholders you have.  I'm sure many people, including myself, are turned away from it because of what it looks like.

Also, no offense, but the whole zombie genre is getting old.

I understand your point about the art,  the artists have only been on board for 2 weeks.  I'm going to be posting an update soon with some of the revised art as it comes in.  I guess the zombie genre being tired is a matter of opinion.  It also depends on what type of game you make,  I would say military shooters have to be the most tired genre.  But then again,  someone could come out with something that blows you away.  It's all a matter of what people do with what material they have.

I like it, I understand why someone would use place-holders to properly test the engine before wanting to fully implement the new artwork. If you did it any other way it would be idiotic, What is the point of having something that looks good but does not work? You are on the right path, get the game to run fine then update the graphics.

I have to agree with Critter, im sure the 10.9 Million (Yes Million) viewers that tuned in for season 3 of Walking Dead also agree. Zombies are barely coming into the light, yes there have been plenty of movies and such. Yet the popularity of zombies has never been this high. Also Shooters are getting very annoying, for the last few years they have become a milking franchise, key example....Halo....I can't wait to pick up Halo 4 "My Little Pony Edition"
