Greets, I figured I'd start a Devlog for this project just in case people want to see its progress. Indie Action is a Action Platformer starting characters from indie games (that are kinda well known that Ive played). *windows Only* but that might change. Also, this is one man job, I'm not looking for anything out of this game. I just always wanted to play a complete 'Smash Bros. of indie games' but since no one else finds that concept that interesting, or wants to make it, I will. -Status- Characters Completed : all Stages Completed : all Game Modes Completed : all Tools: -Game Maker 8.1 -Bamboo Drawing Tablet -FMOD DLL _________________________________________

Checked out the video and game is looking really nice and fun, like the concept. Who are all the characters and what games are they all from? Know most of them but would be good to be listed in your description

The character sprites look great, like the way you've got them all to work in the game without clashing even though they had different original aesthetics.

It was QUITE a task. but all I really did was use realistic preportions. Heads not being bigger then the torso, not too much detail on clothing etc... The fact that I've gotten all the base animations like running/jumping/ledge hang and such... done for each character still amazes me.

Progress
-Seikleja and Barkley are done, all sprites done and all attacks coded. - Dishwasher only needs his 'machine gun' and 'chainsaw' special attacks . Then he is complete.
Next in line after is Iji (50%) She needs the rest of her melée attacks, and her other three specials.
-Trilby (20%) has his grapple hook umbrella special (grolly) complete with grapple engine coded. He also has his basic melée done.
- Xoda (20%) can do her air spin kick special, but has no melée attacks yet.
- Naija (20%) can do her beast form charge attack. Currently has no melée attacks.
Stages:
Ivy trail (dishwasher stage): is almost done. I'm thinking about adding ravens flying around.

new vid:
I wont post vids often, because i don't have much time for it.
I've changed the resolution of the game so it runs faster and is more easy to record now. So Ive uploaded a new vid of the game.

Man, looks really fluid. The double team move that Barkley has is awesome, heh heh. I think that Seiklus moves around kind of a lot in his hitboxes / sprite origins, but otherwise, the game looks great!

Thanks I try to incorporate a variety of what the characters do in their original games, and maybe even expand upon it. Seikleja was the first test character in the beginning, Thanks for telling me I'll fix the sprite positions some time.

PROGRESS:
- Dishwasher is now at 100% completion
- I'm now working on Iji, and since most of her attacks simply involve her pointing her gun is Should not take very long to complete her.

This looks fantastic! I hope the gameplay is as tight as it looks! You're in serious need of some background graphics though.

Thanks It's my first devlog, and it's got me really driven. I knocked out the hard stuff first. Now it's pretty much just spriting and coding attack states, stuff I can easily do and get done after I'm off work. ---------- on a side note: Ill update the demo at some point later.
