@Soul  *googles nicalis* Oh right Nicalis, the guys who ported it to the wii, seems they got vvvvv also, I don't keep track of these things. Using other creators characters without letting them know burns my conscience. But less humble developers are kinda pricks anyway so it's no big deal.


@mokesmoe I dont think there would be much harm in it. I mean they pretty much stole that idea from Metroid, and even kinda ripped off the jingle that plays when you get one. Would make an awesome super healer item.

damage display

now when you take damage negative numbers fly out of you, kinda like in cave story, or most RPG's. This allows you to see how much damage your doing to the fighter as soon as you make that hit. Max hp is 200.

Sprite Edits/ Effect Edits

Just polished up a few sprites, subtle changes but they make things feel and look a little better.

Dialog System

The characters talk for a bit in-game before Death Match Battles (1 on 1 fights where if you lose its an instant Game over).




This allows people who aren't familiar with some of the games to get an idea of the personalities of the characters. Everything from Naija's internal Monologs, to Barkley and Kalto's disgruntled personalities.

Xoda Rap has some melée attacks now, still not in the demo yet though.

I really want to make a new stage, having finished Dishwasher's. But I'll focus more on the characters for now.

Eh...I don't care about money, there will be more then enough laying around when I'm dead anyway. I just want to finish a game concept I know no one will ever bother to finish, for a while at least.

So I managed write up all the movesets, it's time for the fun stuff !
I don't really feel like typing the movesets on here via iPhone. So maybe Friday or so.

I played Indie Brawl with my girlfriend once, back when she was living out-of-state. I came to visit her with a laptop full of multiplayer indie games. We had fun, even though it wasn't finished. Smiley

Nicalis doesn't approve of fangames.

That just seems nuts to me. How can you not approve of fan games? That's like having a policy against being complimented. Unless you have reason to believe that a particular fan game is going to replace sales (e.g. because it's a straight remake of one of your games), who cares?

I played Indie Brawl with my step son, I kicked his ass in it and he rage quit though heh heh. Indie Brawl is lots of fun. I just already had this engine working and I didn't want to scrap the idea.

I really want online play for Indie Action, because the joypad feels funny (mostly jumping and the dodge). I want there to be a way to make all 4 players human without crowding one keyboard. Online play is something I'd do much later though.

 
Also...I hope I'm not ruining any indie franchises. Am I ?

There are billions of indie franchises but only a minimal fraction of them have recognisable characters that would fit a fighting game roster, wich is why my answer to this was B.
