cornerless stages: If you think it will interact with the other game mechanics in a fun or interesting way, then sure, go for it. But don't think for a second that taking out corners will make balancing any easier. It might result in a sligthly smaller probability of people finding infinites, but unless you rework your game entirely around the concept of cornerless stages, zoner characters are going to dominate every other characters.
