Hello everyone!
This is a new game i have been working lately. Its a tactical turn based RPG inspired by popular board game Hero Quest.

you can see an early build video here playing with the barbarian marching down to dungeon level 2

I loved Hero Quest as a kid, and the artwork on this looks great. The best bit was setting up the levels..

Love the art, reminds of a board game in a good way. The game play reminds me of quite a few favorites from years gone by.

I want to try this. Used to play Hero Quest and Space Crusade quite a lot back in the day. I have Hero Quest on C64 but it runs so slow that I just can't enjoy it much. It would be great to try something similar again.

The only thing that bothers me is the name, Azkallor. I love names that go to the point instead of giving a made-up name that doesn't give anything to my imagination. But you don't have to listen to me on that :D I'd try that game anyway Smiley

I think i know what you mean Rami. The full name of the game is Azkallor:Dungeons of Despair but short for Azkallor. The name azkallor alone doesn't really give you much imagination... does it?  Tongue

Azkallor is the name of the evil wizard, the guy on top right of the screen who is always watching and deciding how to alter your fate  Blink

Great art and fluid movement. Since I'm not familiar with Hero Quest, could you explain a bit how combat works? Also, will you be able to play as a ranged based or spell based character?

You control a party of 3 characters and you can have melee, ranged or spellcasters in your group. Only in the first level you play solo to learn the game Smiley

Combat works by actually rolling dice for the attacker and defender based on their attributes.

For every attack point a creature has, it rolls a dice and has a 40% to score a damage point. If it's total is zero then it misses the attack.

For every defense point the creature has, it rolls a dice that has 33% to bring a shield which subtracts damage from the attack. If it rolls an equal amount of shields or above then it blocks the attack.

If you notice on the video when attacking, the numbers on lower left show the dice results
