yes minecraft is successful because of yogscast, not the fact that both the pr teams for valve and infinity ward mentioned it at pretty much the same time. said time being when the game started actually making sales.
hmmmmmmmmm
How the fuck did that happen anyways? Valve just randomly decided to make a post praising Minecraft for no reason... that's unprecedented. It could have happened espontaneously, but maybe they had a deal? Maybe someone at Mojang knew someone at the tf2 team? I don't know, it is just really weird. People had been making Minecraft levels in TF2, and it was not unprecedented. They did the same thing with Gang Garrison 2 (which also started on these forums!)

A bit ambitious i would say. How many people will be working on this and for how long. $250,000 isnt that much money. Not a very realistic roadmap i would say, unless its 6 guys in a basement living off ramen noodles and rainwater, working on geothermally powered computers.
It's going to be a big ask. It's one thing to say "like Minecraft, but BETTER!", and another to successfully pull it off in a reasonable timeframe. Best of luck to them, and to their credit they certainly raised a lot of money very fast, but I don't think they're going to have an easy time of it. If they succeed, I know I'd be checking it out. A brief introduction to the Yogscast:
I just wanted to say thanks for this. The vast majority of this information I simply did not know, and it helps give a bit of context.

These guys take their spite seriously, but yeah I really do see this coming about solely because the proliferation of Minecraft clones is pretty much a 'thing' now. It'll be interesting to see how this pans out.

Guys, what if we pool the resources of all tigsource members, make a fantastic looking trailer for a game, kickstart it, and run off with the money. It can be the heist of the century. Now Derek can run this thing but he'll clearly need 11 other people. We can code name this Derek's 11. Also casinos and stuff.
