Poker would be far, far worse with a known result. The game is about intuition. You put all your money on the line based on a feeling about the situation. Your feeling is largely based on what you've observed of other people making the same intuitive judgements as you, and everyone is winning/losing randomly - you don't know the result so you have to go with your feelings there too. In the end it's a game about feeling real hard about the situation, doing whatever you can to hide your feelings, having your feelings fucked with, then having to rely on those same feelings to make a decision. If you added any more certainty to poker it wouldn't be poker, like not even close.

It's a big industry for a reason Smiley.
