Sup.

Been meaning to post this since its successful funding, as I'm a huge Shadowrun fan. What got me into the series was both the SNES & Genesis versions; the SNES being my favorite while the Genesis version had some of the greatest gameplay mechanics that were super detailed even in the 16bit Era.

The thing that made me an instant fan of the SNES version was the Interactive Design, the Emergent narrative that placed you in danger right off the back; unlike modern games the the tutorial was survival, assassins shooting at you as they crank their hand out of dumpsters & out of windows, it was too dope. Although finding clues in conversations was mind-fuckingly tedious, it was cool how dialog can be with using the right words (something I miss of the 90's). Also the story was sweet, in today standards could be a really tough hardcore Sandbox-RPG.

What drew you most to the series? Which game? & What do you want to see in the new iteration carried from the classics & the table-top? (& make your comments really Shadowrun-ny)

My experience with Shadowrun on the SNES was "fun, until you get to the part where you have to talk to everyone you've ever met again because you missed a word somewhere".

I totally missed this Kickstarter, which is probably for the better since I already spend too much money on videogames. The game will be made, and I can play it when it comes out. Hopefully it'll have the awesome theme of the SNES game and none of the horrible trial-and-error.

I've never played Shadowrun on the SNES, though I read all the Counselor's Corner tips so I already know the solutions to all the puzzles. Hooray for spoilers!

My tabletop group used to play Shadowrun games ages ago, but I've never played the tabletop game. I should get in a group that runs it someday so I can finally enjoy the majesty of accepting missions from a person with a Zebra head while trying to play it completely straight.

the megadrive shadowrun game is pretty nice if only because it's basically a console crpg with everything that entails. i mean it isn't really top shelf for the genre or anything but it's cool that it's a "fish out of water" sort of thing that is actually pretty good.
