Hello everyone, I'm new here so I figure I'd start off with my overall purpose.

Over the past couple years I have been developing a unique video game concept/title. It is an MMOPRG for the Xbox 360 (or newer depending on when I'm done) that would utilize the Kinect to its fullest capability. This game will use body-motion and hand gestures to execute various commands for gameplay, as well as some voice/facial recognition features. This will allow an almost endless array of abilities and a fluid way of using each one by means of muscle memory. Players will actively use their bodies in motion to react to the game rather than a controller or keyboard, while obtaining armor, skills, and objects that can augment your characters behavior.

The details of this game are classified at this time and patent pending. I would like more people of similar tastes to discuss this further. Hopefully this could start a project involving many like-minded individuals.

Idea guy, huh?  Welp.

This isn't the correct section to post something like this.  The "Announcements" board is for completed games, and a concept is hardly a completed game.

Also, if you've never made a game before, an MMO is NOT the place to start.  I too wanted to create a huge MMO back when I was a wee lad, but I've matured and realized that a solid foundation is the most important thing.  Shoot smaller.  Learn how to use some of the simpler tools like Game Maker from the tutorials around the site.

Intriguing.

MMOPRG usually require long and repetitive play sessions. Don't you think playing one with Kinect (or the like) is going to be exhausting ? Maybe I'm just lazy but when I want to play for a long time I'm better on my sofa with a pad in my hands.

First of all:

And Announcements are for anything you want to announce troll

No, it isn't. It says so right on the front page: "Announce finished games, or submit articles to TIGSource!" Your post is neither.

Second of all, if we got a dime every time someone posts that they have a bunch of game ideas and want to make a studio, well, we might not be millionaires, but we'd have a huge frickin' pile of dimes...

I really wish one of the mods would make a sticky with a standard reply to these "I have a bunch of game ideas! Come make my game for me!" posts. It'd save everyone a lot of time.

Yet another MMO(RPG) idea kid throwing a fit because he's being ridiculed by more seasoned developers? That's a big-numberth time this period. We get stuff like this a lot, so pardon any harsh treatment.

It is an MMOPRG for the Xbox 360 (or newer depending on when I'm done) that would utilize the Kinect to its fullest capability.

I...what? Who thought massive multiplayer games are a good idea for a console? Using the Kinect to read all bodily movements might result in a few unnecessary teabaggings.

The details of this game are classified at this time and patent pending.

Oooh, tough guy, thinking we'll all steal his ideas? If you ever want help, it's not a wise idea to do that.

TL;DR Don't do an MMO first. It'll burn you out on making games. Be a little more open, and people may help or even suggest to make such idea better.

Apparently this site is nothing but a bunch of jerk-off over weight losers who still tinker with GM and piss ant software like that. Seasoned?? LMFAO none of you are seasoned developers, seeing as you are on a free forum. And Im the kid with a game idea that will shit on anything youve got dude. Go ahead and try with your shitty knock-off of something else...

And the whole point of saying I had patents pending was to better convince others to partake in this project, not to show off. But I take it none of you work together on anything, guess that explains why you aren't going anywhere... Have fun with that. Leave the actual industry for those who are serious about it and want to excel. Or just troll more. Either way, youre still garbage.

Requesting that a mod sticky this thread. Wink

In all seriousness, now there's a bipolar reaction like you don't see them often.
