Hello everybody,

I'm new to the forums, I looked around to try to find an introduction forum but couldn't find one, I apologize if making my first post here is bad etiquette. I'm currently working on a game that I started about half a year ago months ago. I have been coding it and producing all of the assets for it from scratch myself. The journey of building it is wonderful, and I intend on seeing this game through to the end; however, the further I get into it, the clearer it becomes how large the work load truly is. I'm looking for anybody that is interested in working on this project with me. Any help that can be offered is greatly appreciated, be it programming, art, or otherwise.

It is being coded in C# with the XNA framework, and any profits the game makes after release will be shared.

I work full time along with this project so I spend whatever time I can on it, but it isn't a full 8 hours a day.

For some added context to decide if you're interested in the game or not: Trying to create a game inspired by some classics on the SNES such as Super Metroid or Castlevania. 2D low-res graphics, side scrolling action adventure with very little hand holding to encourage the player to experiment and try new things to solve puzzles and to progress in the game. (This is a very generalized and condensed version of the concept, there's more to it, but generally if you're interested at all in making a metroidvania-style game, that's the sort of game I'm building)

If you are interested please pm me or email me at thebroodian (At) hotmail (dot) com

I have playable (albeit crude) content on request.

Hmmm. Posting images on this forum isn't as simple as I'd like it to be. One moment and I'll find a way to get an image on here.

Here we go. The only thing I can think to preface this with is that calling this 'pre-alpha' would be an understatement.

Note: If you don't want any more replies to this thread, you should add "[Found]" to the beginning of the thread title, by editing your first post. If that is the case, I'm sorry to bother. Smiley

Hello, I am looking for artists to add/improve 48px portraits in the style of:

I take it that you made the art in that screenshot? Then I believe that your cartoon style might be quite fitting to the game, for which the portraits are.

You can read and see much more in my seeking-artists-thread.

Update: This project is still live and interested in any help anybody can offer.

Some long-term goals for the project:

  • Cooperative simultaneous split screen 2-player mode.
  • Interesting and challenging enemies. (Quality over quantity)
  • Thought provocative puzzles characteristic of metroidvanias

Again, currently I'm working on this solo and am continuously making progress, it's just always slow, and there are a lot of cases where I feel another mind to discuss ideas with would ultimately benefit the project.

If interested, feel free to email me at TheBroodian (at) hotmail (dot) com
