Nirvana's Nevermore album was pretty good, I think. Some good songs on there. Smiley

Also, the Squirrel Nut Zippers are great, though I've never actually met someone who's heard of them. Anyone here? They do what I would describe as a sort of jazz swing type music.

Yeah, I've heard of them. They're cool. I had a friend who listens to them quite a bit.

Music! Again! Ha, this is going to be a LONG list:

Tech-Trance: Dan Rotor, Simmetune, October Rust
Psytrance: Cybernetika, Soul Kontakt, Ekoplex, Sub Atomic, New Born
Goa: Cosmo Circle, Mindsphere
Acid: Alek Száhala, Kryogen

Noise: Bad Sector, Akita Masami, Advanced Robotics
Ambient: Last Days, Pete Namlook

Drum'n Bass: Black Sun Empire

Yeah, the most important ones. Untypical electronic for this thread.

Frank Zappa: http://www.zappa.com/zapparadio/

Zappa radio has a very short playlist though. If they played all the records the guy made, they would have material for ages.

They Might Be Giants. I recommend you start with one of the later albums, like The Spine, and work your way downwards to their earlier works. Some people need some time to get used to the kind of awesome they used back then.

I can't stop listening "Add N to (X)", it's great. Also, I've been listening Skeletal Lamping, the last album by Of Montreal, and a bit of the Loom soundtrack.

someone showed me some bass nectar and I really like their sound its like psy breaks with dub and hip hop influences sort of.

this song is way way over the top though. to me its says " hey! the eclectic inter galactic freakshow has come to town"

Let's see, lately I've been enjoying (in  no particular order):

Demon Hunter (Metal)
Zao (Metal)
Amohalko (electronic) (Entire album "Spark" is free http://www.sendspace.com/file/15le3j)
Smoking Popes (pop rock)
Since October (rap rock/ nu-metal)
Capital Lights (pop rock)
Head (nu-metal)

Anyone hear of any of these guys?
And I would definitely check out Amohalko. He's unsigned so he released his album for free.
It's good  Smiley

I've totally heard of Head. He's the one who went hilariously mad/Christian and quit KoRn, no? That was amusing.

Built to Spill concert tomorrow. So listening to Built to Spill today. Built to Spill is good and hereby recommended and that. Bam.

Important edit: "You're so insecure you probably think this song's about you" is a pretty awesome line.
