TIGJAM UK 7
Date: 3rd-5th August 2012
Venue: CB2 Bistro, Cambridge.

A weekend of making games, hosted by the Cambridge Friendship Club.  Everyone welcome, regardless of experience, so long as you're willing to get your hands dirty Smiley

The format of the event is usually that we have a running series of opt-in 3-hour jams all weekend.  If you want to focus on a single-project, great, if you want to spend longer extend one of these mini-jam games into something bigger, great, if you want to work on something else entirely different, great. Smiley

People will be about from 10am on the Friday, but Friday being a weekday, people will be arriving all through the day.  There are usually plenty of people hanging about for the Monday after as well

Get tickets here:
http://tigjamuk7.eventbrite.com/

See CB2 here: http://www.cb2bistro.com/
You'll be expected to buy food and drink at the venue.

Accommodation:
The YHA hostel in cambridge is super convenient - very close to both the train station and CB2! £20.00-ish per night. (For group hostel accommodation, check out this thread by Alan!)

Transport:
The event is within walking distance from Cambridge Train Station.
It's easy to get to Cambridge from Stanstead airport, and you can travel up from London Kings Cross or London Liverpool St rail station.

Any questions?  Just ask below, or send a tweet to @cb2indies

I haven't been since UK2, but I think the time is right to start jammin' again.

Would it be bad of me to get a ticket before I'm sure I can make it?

Go ahead! Do cancel if it turns out you can't make it though, space is limited.

I'm a complete beginner when it comes to this whole making games malarky, hopefully I will have learnt enough to make some cool stuff at this event!

Currently working on a game while learning to code. It's pretty hard...but at least I'm trying!

Sodding 'lympics... that's the opening weekend, isn't it?

That probably explains why 3 nights in the Travelodge are 2x as expensive as last TIGJam...  (in central London some of them are charging up to £300/night... yes, for a Travelodge room)

I'm a 'maybe' for this one, I think...

whoa, train tickets are about 40 pounds higher than I was expecting. Do I have any hope of them going down? Probably not. Sorry to be a silly american.

Ah, yikes, we didn't even think of that. Hopefully that won't cause a problem with the hostel...

Sorry, the trains are stupidly expensive here Sad

There is the option of getting a bus from London, though, which is actually pretty nice - it's only about a two hour trip, and costs £12.

Damn you guys and your timing Tongue I'm a long distance athlete, and while I'm not quite good enough for the Olympics, I'm going down to London to run a few races in the up coming weeks and the weeks following. I've even run in the Olympic Stadium recently! It looks like shit btw. Anyway, I think I'll be to poor by this time. On that note, I'm off to the outskirts of London in an hours time.

I signed up! But, may have to cancel if the accomodation is going to be a problem. The travelodge is totally booked up too. (Was thinking of staying somewhere non-hostel and seeing if better sleep makes my jamming more productive!).

Unfortunately, we've had to rebook TIGJAM UK 7. Because of the Olympics in London this summer, all of the accommodation we usually depend on in Cambridge is booked up. So, we've moved the date forward a week, to the first weekend in August. Here's the new page:

http://tigjamuk7.eventbrite.com/

If you've already booked a ticket, you'll have to get a new one on that page.

I'm updating the first post now. Sorry about this!
