Introversion, the genius indie dev team behind Uplink, Darwinia and Defcon, have updated their Facebook page with some new pictures of their upcoming title, Prison Architect.

This title is shaping up really well, and not enough people know about it!  It looks like it's shaping up to be a mixture of Dwarf Fortress and Bullfrog's older Theme titles, with 'Still cutscenes' inspired by graphic novels adding flavour to the dark and grim subject matter.

Fans should be able to get their hands on an Alpha version of the prison management sim from September 2012, with a final release schedule planned for 2012/13 at the moment.

As you can tell, I'm super-hyped for this game, but I don't know anyone else who's talking about it, so I'm hoping to give it a bit of exposure here!

Eurogamer got their hands on a preview recently - here's the article link: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-03-09-prison-architect-preview-the-key-to-success

And an earlier Wired article:  http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2012-02/03/prison-architect

Thanks!
PS: Sorry of you saw me post this on other forums too - just trying to give one of my favourite indie devs a bit more exposure!  Shrug

weird that they have a paypal donate button on their website..

Darwinia was the first indie game that really impressed me and when I started paying attention to indie games in general, and I still put it on my list of favorite pc games of all time. Defcon was beyond outstanding and Multiwinia is easily their worst game, though I felt it's a bit under-appreciated.

can't say I'm too hyped about this new game though, I haven't seen or read much of it. I have no reason to suspect that it would be bad though.

Not really wild about the art style for the people, but the game sounds like something I'd enjoy, so I can deal with that.

I feel the same thing regarding the people's art style (the one used in-game, the comic one looks cool), but aside from that looks nice.

The disjointing of the art styles is kind of weird.

Yeah, especially with the giant word "EXECUTION" on the right.  It's pretty off putting.

Edit:  Making everyone a different colored Darwinian styled cypher logo would go a long ways towards almost making a point about the facelessness of America's prison industry.
