you gotta do stuff at the same time. there's this skill to occupying your mind with imagination when you're listening. the value to audio is that you aren't controlled in a way. so it's like, a cross between just thinking and being stimulated by something. it's kind of like the tea of media: a slight flavoring.
you practice doing it in the car, while reading, or whatever. then you get used to it.

i don't think i could listen to a podcast or listen to an audiobook while reading, it'd be impossible to listen to both without attention to one or the other suffering, i don't think it's possible to split your attention like that

Ya, I tried reading a book at my grandma's while she has TV going loud but it's too dum to concentrate on the book.
I like to listen to audio when I'm drawing or doing simple coding things though.

nah, I don't mean like a book. Like old notes that you review, lightly, or forums, or web stuff. It's off and on.
A really great one is an ipod while cooking or walking, or sitting in the park, outside with a candle, stuff like that. Gaming can be good too.

A really great one is when you're working, you just throw it on for like 5 minutes, to gain perspective, then go back to working. Depends on the work.

Tim Rogers knows a lot about videos games and has a lot of experience making them, but he has not been as funny or interesting lately. He also talks to much about his games instead of making them now.

Tim Rogers started up one called "Insert Credit" fyi.
<3 tim.
Their intentionally annoying sound effect is really off putting.

I haven't read much of Tim's stuff, but what I have read was basically all this and him stroking his own ego, so I couldn't bring myself to read/listen to anything else. Let me know if there is anything specific of his worth reading/listening to.

He's an acquired taste. Just ignore the ego bits. It's just flavor.
Check the link I gave above.

Hmm, I bought the DVD he made with Bob from Bob's Game at E3 and it was hilarious and read his books and stuff, and it is all interesting, but lately he's just been boring and not as interesting.

Anyways!
Are there any awesome indie game podcasts out there? I feel like there totally could be one!
Alec's Infinite Ammo one is great, but it is just not regular enough.

I love podcasts, and if someone wants to start an indie game centric skype-y one I volunteer as a last resort.
