Fantastic! I just looked into Snakes and Lattes as well, and it seems like a realllllly good place to have the meetup. It looks like you have to book a table in advance though. Can anyone confirm/deny that there's a cost involved in this, since the online booking form didn't mention one.

@Shawny: Since you keep mentioning pubs, you'll be happy to know this place also serves beer/wine/mixed drinks.

Snakes and Lattes would be my number 1 suggestion. They have an unbelievable collection of board games, and it's a really relaxed atmosphere.


EDIT: Oh, the cost  is $5 per person at S&L, and you can just walk in and sit down, but if we're going to get a bit of a bigger group, calling ahead will probably be a good idea. Just to ensure there's enough space.


Also, perhaps it would be good to get some contact information prior to meeting up. As I don't want to be walking around going "Are you Kramlack? I'm not crazy I swear"

Does Snakes and Lattes have wireless like most cafes? I'm not sure how much of an actual 'jam' we wanted to make this, but if we're bringing laptops it'd be good if they had a wireless connection.

With that said, if more people are against the idea of a jam, in favour of just sitting around and chatting over drinks and board games, I'm fine with doing that as well.

EDIT: Basically just tell me in a post if you'd prefer a jam or just regular meet up, that way I'll know if I need to ask about a wireless connection or anything when I call to make a reservation.

Finally, at $5 per person, I'm good for covering the entry fee if it's just the five of us, so all you guys need to bring is cash for food and drink.

@Threesided: I know what Shawny looks like and vice versa, but yeah, I can contact everyone with what I'll be wearing that day, or a picture or something.

EDIT2: Jotapeh has informed me that if Snake's and Latte's is a problem, we can use his house as long as we don't ruin the place.

I got your PM and I'm totally in, never been to a jam/hangout before. Keep me posted with dates and I will try my best to make it. One problem for me might be the location if you guys are doing it in a bar because I'm not 19 yet. Also how old is everyone cause I'm on the youngish side and I'm there will be some people around my age there.

It's more than likely we'll be going to Snakes and Lattes, but otherwise we'll head to Jotapeh's house or the apartment I'm staying at. You should be fine to come in that case.

As far as people your age range, Shawny is 20 and I'm a bit older, Jotapeh is late 20's I think? I'm pretty sure all of us are around the 20's so you won't be out of place.

Since it seems like more people are coming (Sean A. and Threesided's programmer friend), I'd like to take back what I said about paying for the entry fee to Snakes and Lattes, I'm actually not bringing too much cash to Toronto (mostly for food) so I'd like to be as conservative as possible now. Sorry.

Yeah don't worry about paying Kramlack, I'm more than self-sufficient, and $5 shouldn't be a stretch for most others either.


I'm pretty excited, I've wanted to meet some TIGS peeps for a while, and I've been jealous of all the folks down in Cali. They get to meet up all the time.

I've updated the first post with the most up to date info. I'm still going to have to book a table and see if Snake's and Lattes has a wireless connection. I probably won't be able to call until I'm in Toronto Sunday or Monday, so hopefully I don't cut it too close and we get screwed over, haha.

So I can do Wednesday if that is the only day but Tuesday would be infinitely better for me. Also kramlack why don't I just call tomorrow and find out rather than waiting until Sunday or Monday? We should finalize people and dates and times first though.
