So, I've recently decided to switch back to Game Maker, and I've been looking for useful extensions. However, I can't find much besides useless extensions, extensions that do everything ever, and broken links. So, what are the best/most useful extensions that you use regularly?

Supersound is pretty cool, because the default music loader in GM is really crappy. It supports OGGs along with pausing and jumping to different points in music and other cool stuff.

yeah, definitely use a sound dll. however i'd recommend fmod rather than supersound. fmod has much more functionality than supersound, although it does cost something if your game is commercial (but if your game is free it's completely free to use). there are two fmod dll's for gm, use the one by icuurd

there are lots of other useful dll's but they are conditionally useful depending on the type of game you want to make. yourself's high resolution timer is essential if you want to use delta time, for instance. if your game is going to be internet-multiplayer, get a good dll for that. if your game uses xbox controllers, get a good dll for that. and so on. the only *mandatory* one is a good sound dll (either fmod or supersound) because gm's own sound abilities are terrible and pretty much every game needs sound

Faucet networking by Medo42 is really good. It's an interface to networking sockets.

I'd advise against using Super Sound. Myself and some others have mentioned that they sometimes get random errors when exiting games using it, plus it hasn't been updated in years so it's unlikely there will be a fix. If all you need is for GameMaker to play ogg files then I recommend you use Caster instead. It's designed solely for that purpose so you don't get all the bells and whistles of fmod but it's incredibly easy to work with. I just recently switched over from using Super Sound to Caster and haven't had any problems so far.
