finished the newgrounds demo last night...gonna try and finish the normal demo, and work on the press kit.

release trailer is also (mostly) finished - just need to update the picture at the end.

and adding small things, playtesting of coures.

Looks really good, although the environment looks a bit too static IMO.  Animated tiles, even if it's just flowers bobbing up and down, would make it feel a lot more lively.

Thanks! And true, but we want to keep it serene, calm, subdued - the water in parts is animated to give that feeling, and the music also goes along with the feeling. We don't want the atmosphere too lively in that area...it's a hard trade-off. Adding animation to the flowers would make things more lively but might make things come off as too cheery and happy, which this world is not. But it is a good thing to think about in general, maybe slightly more lively would have made it better. Perhaps those things on the trees could glow a bit, maybe the leaves rustling - some sort of movement added -  though it's a bit too late to experiment with that at this point.

Congratulations Seagaia! When I first saw this game, I thought that there were too many similar and depressing colors, but following this thread made me realize this wasn't the case, it looks very calm and good, very consistent!

After the release and it's been a while, will you speak out about the biz for this game, or keep it private? I'm very curious about how some of these projects will fare in the PC indie market, but I total understand if someone doesn't want to disclose information like this, I'm not even sure we wanna do it with HW.

yeah i'd love to talk about the results..it's something I didn't find much of..except for steambirds, and one other game. i don't have a problem with people knowing, the only thing I can't say is exact numbers of desura or gamersgate because of a contract thingy.

we have 42 pre-orders right now and pre-orders have been up for about a month, but with no contacting of the press so i think that actually is pretty good from my normal outlets - indiedb, twitter, /r/gamedev, here, facebook.

haha and contacting the press this actually feels a little different because people might do review? i have no idea what I am doing, whether to send stuff early or not. press stuff is going smoothly. I decided I would send out review copies over the next few days, because people need time to play them, rather than rush it all next monday.

reviews should be popping up next monday. I think a few are appearing later this week (thu/fri weekend?) which is okay.

still weird that this game is like, well, finished...

i sent more emails today. turns out i have been sending people to a fastspring page where you cant checkout with a credit ard for $0. oops...so i sent an email to everyone to an alternate download...sigh whoops. oh well.

so that was today. and made some small fixes and uploaded to GG and desura....going to resdesign the website to be cleaner (I like the information flow of the antichamber site) speaking of which antichamber is tomorrow

sent some last e-mails out. will have to do follow up stuff next week? possibly tomorrow...anyways, redid the webpage (www.anodynegame.com) - looked at antichamber and braid's pages and copied that design, the info flow made more sense.

I think we have a few big-ish reviews and interviews lined up..if everything goes smoothly...hmm...

speaking of antichamber, played through it once today. cool game!

Decided I should probably actually play the demo. Really liking it. The music makes it feel so calm.

Bats are a bit annoying but other than that, it's been a really pleasant experience.

I'll be sure to buy it once I get the cash. Definitely looking forward to seeing the rest of the game. Smiley
