that's a shame, not every game needs a direct and obvious story. I really enjoyed dark souls because of how unique and unlike other games it is these days (except the older king's field games).
ya i agree. and shit like "we're trying to be as big as elder scrolls" is a bit worrying. i just hope they're not trying to make it more like a typical fantasy rpg. if they do that they might end up shooting themselves in the foot though because as far as i'm concerned, the game's uniqueness (compared to other modern rpgs) is one of its main selling points. all speculation ofc and the game MIGHT turn out just fine, but i have my doubts. |

Well, there's no sense in speculation yet. I could form a billion opinions of the game from that one trailer and a bit of discussion about it, but the best thing to do is wait for more information. Let's just keep our fingers crossed...

That whole EDGE article seems like typical games journalism wanking. WILL DARK SOULS STAY TRUE TO IT'S ROOTS? ARE THE DEVELOPERS GOING TO ABANDON THEIR FANS? DO THEY HAVE AN OBLIGATION TO MAKE THE GAME MORE ACCESSIBLE. We here at EDGE can answer all of these questions. And the answer is... Maybe.
