Surprised that Humanities = Money/Income argument hasn't been made. It does seem like some measure of "net worth" in the game, whether you're really good at helping people or really good at fucking them up. Both add drama to the game, after all...

Retroactively pointing out how big of a jackass I am.
I thought Hidetaka was Hayao. I'm an idiot.
That is all.

No, souls are the currency, humanities are the Dark Souls equivalent of "lives". Souls are very obviously money/income, because not only can you get them from killing enemies, but that's how you buy stuff.
Yes, the undead merchants can talk, but not the hostile hollows. I never saw any of the other enemy hollows yelling at you, which suggests that they are too far gone. Logan/Solaire never hollowed and it's intended that they simply went insane.

Who's to say that they are gone? Maybe they just want to kill you for your loot. They don't attack each other. What use do any of the merchants have for souls, anyhow.

I didn't mean the ones roaming around the map so much as the NPCs that become hollow. I highly doubt Rhea of Thorolund or Laurentius would make a conscious decision to charge at a heavily armed Chosen Undead who they were formerly best buds with.

They look pretty cool, I like the artist they have for these - he does morbid characters pretty well.

Dark Souls concept art has always been kind of disappointing to me, actually. I would not really give it a second glance if I hadn't played the game.
I like the "dwarf" character, though!

There is some questionable taste in some heavily chained armor designs as example. But overall the artistic touch is what makes this game stands out.

Well, I don't think art design is the strongest part of the Souls games. A lot of the art seems like it could be "Generic Dark Fantasy Art Pack #7" kind of stuff. But somehow the game elevates the art, instead of being brought down by it.

Even though art design might look a bit generic at the first glance, I think it still has some kind of distinct style I can instantly recognize. Or perhaps I have just learnt to associate it to Souls games

You know what's instantly recognizeable? Guy in shiny fluted plate. That said, I like the dwarf thing too... except for the comically huge battle-axe. And I too, would like a staff made from a dead bat. Hopefully there's more magician armor in general than the previous two games, I feel they were rather lacking in that area. I also hope there is more dark and depressing areas like the tower of latria in this one, I really miss that place. The infested terran looking enemy makes me go 'uhhhhhh idunno guys' And the big guy with the scythes looks too much like Hades from GoW3 furry pauldrons I love how the armor in these games in awesome, yet practical looking for the most part.
