first teaser pic i hope this is gonna be actual unedited gameplay footage and not some bullshit "trailer" with a bunch of "cool" action scenes spliced together and no HUD. but. tho seeing as it's 12 mins im optimistic about that.

EDIT: also someone pointed just out to me that the early gameplay trailers for dark souls 1 had this style of lighting too and it was toned down for the release version so i guess i was just dum

Anyone notice how it looks like the undead asylum + asylum demon all over again? Its even got the balcony on the 2nd floor in the back. Also nice, Wanderer set makes a come back! edit: AND FLUTED PLATE? Now I'm going to have a hardon all day. Thanks FROM software, for making the rest of my day all awkward.

yes lol.
tbh, recycling shit from demon's souls made sense in dark souls because more than half their potential audience hadn't played the 1st game, but im not sure if i want ANOTHER vanguard, dragon on a bridge, etc rehash. tho maybe hating on dark souls for featuring those things is like hating on mario for having goombas and koopas idk.

If you are classifying "large enemy in hall with pillars" as the asylum and demon then sure. But hey, that same scenario plays out at least two other times.
Iron Knight in the Cathedral, and the Giants in Anor Londo.

Oh haha, I didn't mean to sound like I was criticizing or anything like that. I was just reminded of all the pillar room bosses in both games and its a lot more than I thought.

thoughts:
looks fucking great.
the most castlevania-looking souls game so far.
torches are a kool idea.
less opportunities for cheesing enemies takes out some of the fun of doing that but it's good too.
walking speed seems slow as fuck, even by series standards. i hope that's just because he has high equip load.
nvm what i said about the graphics, they look nice.
there doesn't seem to be estus in the game, i hope the "drop stones of healing" aren't items you have to grind for like in demsouls.
stone mouth thingies look interesting but could also mean that exploration is going to feel less "organic" and more formulaic

i really hate "puzzles" where you have one doodad you have to use to light / unlock various rooms, and you have to backtrack a million times to figure out the correct order for using the doodads.
they're invariably annoying
otherwise it looks pretty spiffy
