If you don't like the framerate already, then you probably want the PC version and to get DSFix to enable 60 FPS. Assuming you have a good computer, that is.

I remember Dark Souls 1 running absolutely terribly on the PC and very well on console. Did they update it or something? There was all kindsa hullabaloo about how bad the PC port was.

From what I remember it was no worse than playing it on an xbox, it was better, it's just that there were features people expected from a PC game that weren't on it?

Slippery slope fallacies everywhere. Or do you mean the people that don't seem to mind?

I think you're getting too caught up in the negative comments (which are mostly coming from a place of love). Check it:

I started and finished this game last week, logged about 28 hours after everything is said and done. It was really enjoyable, from start to finish. The entire time, I was either exclaiming "I hate this game" or "I love this game". Sometimes both at the same time.

gotta say overall I really liked dark souls 2, it's a really good game but in pretty much every way it falls flat to demons souls and dark souls 1.  That's not to say it didn't improve some things...

Yeah I agree, I am having a lot of fun with DS2, but ultimately enjoyed DS1 a lot more. I loved coming out of Betwixt at the start and seeing the sun and ocean, but it wasn't as impressive as going to Lordran the first time. Maybe too many bosses and world layout is too modular. Still, its a great game.

I do think DS2 is not as good as DS1 overall, but it's still an awesome game.

...

It's easy to sound disappointed with DS2, but most people who complain about it probably enjoy it immensely (as I do). The expectations of Souls fans at this point are so friggin' high, though. #LordranProblems

If you feel like overall DS2 is a better game than DS1, then perhaps you're in the minority, but you're not at all alone in thinking that DS2 is very, very good.

Yep I was about to point at what derek said, the consensus is unanimous on internet, it's a very good, some things are worse because personal taste in this, and some things are better of personal taste. Everybody says the same things, I just can't play the game  Apoplectic Addicted I do want  Lips Sealed

Saying DS1 is better than DS2 is like saying
Ocarina of Time is better than A Link To The Past
or the first Back to the future is better than the third.

That said, Im very much  looking forward to that DLC
it gives me a reason to replay the game on PC. (well actually I had done that anyway)

A lot of people are looking at DKS1 though rose colored goggles when a lot of aspects of it were less than great. That said, it feels as though many areas of Dark Souls were way more memorable and atmospheric. Probably because there was a more clear progression through and you were unable to warp, so you have to trudge through it so much. The warping in DKS2 makes it feel a little bit more arcadey and makes the areas less atmospheric. Every level is a one-way street, there's no need to turn back and take in the view. It doesn't feel like a hard fought battle forward, just picking and choosing where to go.

I feel as though they could have made it more weighty by preventing warping until you lit the Primal Bonfire and activated the warps in that branch of the game (it even makes sense story wise, the Primal Bonfire could retain the power of the Lordvessel, which gets transferred to the other bonfires). Then they could have had a way to activate the warps in each subsequent area, but you would have to go through the entire area first. (That would probably necessitate being able to level/repair at the bonfire again, but you could call upon the Herald's manifestation at whatever bonfire you were at).
