So, Dark Souls 2 (PS3)...

Chloanne had an... accident... in Majula (involving a stray weapon) and I've waited the 3 hours (longer, actually) it apparently takes for her gravestone to appear so she can be summoned as a ghost (so I can buy her titanite) but no dice, her gravestone has yet to appear.

Any ideas?

are you looking in the right place?

ANYWAY,

Quote
I’m not usually a fan of gore, or of horror, which made me nervous about Bloodborne - I’m still not convinced that I’ll be able to get through it mentally unscathed. This isn’t dark fantasy any more. It’s more gruesome than that. But it’s not gross-out - there’s no viscera gushing from wounds, no gore-porn, nothing that made my nose wrinkle in disgust. I’ve been scared and occasionally shocked by the things I’ve seen so far in Bloodborne, but not repulsed. This shouldn’t be surprising, really, as this is a Miyazaki game, and rarely has there been a game creator more devoted to aesthetic beauty - even if that beauty is also gruesome.

“I feel like nobody will believe me when I say this, but I’m a tasteful man and I like to adjust things accordingly; there was very careful management of the boundaries of what is shown,” he says. “Things like what colour the blood would be - we had to really adjust the tone of the red that we were using. But also when creatures are attacked and blood is spilling everywhere, it’s adjusted so that it’s expressed in more of an artistic way than a violent or gruesome way; it’s symbolic. It’s expressed in the way that a painting would show something, not a photorealistic representation. That maintains a sense of terror without being gratuitous.

good, that was my 1 gripe with bloodborne

I was looking where she died. Where else would she be?

On another note, those wooden tokens that say "Hello!", "Thank you!", etc. when (and where) you drop them are pure gold on the Belfry Luna. If you drop them down a hole to a lower floor as a phantom appears it causes "Hello!" to echo throughout that floor and thinking you are down there they immediately go running for it which sets them up for a rear attack every time. It's priceless...

I still have to squeeze the last remnants of fun and joy from my PS3 before I make the leap to PS4. The PS3 still has a decent selection being released for it.

Also, I got the king's ring and now making my way through the king doors, some 10 odd hours later, and still no Chloanne. I can not find her tombstone anywhere. I am starting to think it's glitched on me.

i should have myself clearer. i didn't buy a ps4, i bought a Sony Computer Entertainment Official Bloodborne Player™

btw i just read it helps if you get your sins pardoned if you want gravestones to appear. tbh im kinda ignorant of the exact mechanics of gravestones despite pumping so many hours into this game. oops.

I will probably sink a million billion hours in Bloodborne, Sotfs, and Darkblood Soulsborne 2/3, so I'm fairly confident my ps4 purchase will justify itself. Although, I probably would have some serious reservations about it if I owned a good gaming PC.

other than souls though, I guess axiom verge on ps4 will be pretty rad? (yeah I know, you could just play it on a PC)

honestly the souls games are not really that difficult except when you are brand brand brand new or fighting one of the multi-enemy bosses (four kings/o&s/capra/throne defenders/etc), so

they just don't allow you to brute force everything.

the difficulty in souls feels right for what the gams try 2 do. i have this little theory that theres a "correct" difficulty for every game to make the design work.

ps do we really have to talk about this for the millionth time?

i feel bad for the ds2 devs. development had to be pretty rough with restarting like that. knowing that some of the weaker elements were due to time constraints is kind of redeeming (better than just being wonky design), although i already liked ds2 to begin with.
