So I bought Dark Souls. Let's see it can provide the stuff I have searched for.

Just because they're having framerate problems in certain areas doesn't mean its going to go down to 15 FPS, on computer it might go from 70 FPS to 60. lol

yeah..except they said it's going to be locked at 30fps.

more than likely some user will 'fix' that limitation though, like they did for LA Noire. wonder what kind of effect it would have on Dark Souls? in LA Noire changing the fps messed with the car driving physics.

Check it out onion bros, PC manual is available on Steam.. What do you guys think of the keyboard/mouse implementation?

I feel sorry for anybody trying to hold up their shield (LShift) while walking (Ctrl + WASD).

Also from the manual: "To prevent latency issues and frequent disconnections, there is a low FPS feature implemented where if your FPS drops below 15 for 30 seconds, your game will automatically be disconnected from the online session and will return to the title screen."

...should I be worried? (answer: GFWL, FPS lock)

even if you're playing solo? it doesn't really say. I guess it's not a big deal, if you're running less than 15fps for 30 seconds then that isn't really playable to begin with.

controls look awkward but it's not like it will be the first pc port of a console game with shit controls. assassins creed, arkham city and arkham asylum, and alan wake were all pretty unplayable with the mouse/keyboard.

Probably best to use a controller, it's what they designed the game for.

The first no go:
performing a kick by simultaneously pressing direction and button. The time window is not even clean.

well, there's that area with the bridge and the spear zombies, under the dragon. you try to kick the zombies off the bridge. you then wonder "where did i go wrong" as you plummet to your death.

edit: nice try!
the kick is useless anyway

i deleted that post before you posted yours because i decided i wasnt interested in having this discussion but whatever:

just let your guard down, wait for him to attack you, then counter (i haven't tried parrying them but i think you can). the kick is useless. actually all the new moves they added are. the falling attack is only needed for 2 boss fights and i can count the times when i used a leaping attack on 1 hand (spoiler warning: it was never worth it)

I currently have a choice between fighting Quelaag, the Wolf-With-Sword, a billion ghosts, a kraken, and dragons.

I dunno. I used the kick pretty often, and the leaping attack some of the time. The kick's really fast, and if done when the opponent is swinging, they like go into a stumble state. Maybe it's just cause I liked playing two handed heavy weapons though.

The hydra?

Quelaag is pretty easy, I found Sif to be a bit harder, and the Hydra is super easy so long as you don't accidentally fall into the water.
