So, Disney's new animation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btB8tb8fLYMI'm really excited to watch this, seems like they're doing everything right, with a fictional video game that actually looks like a real one and proper video game characters cameos instead of generic ones, some obscure characters even.

I wouldn't say everything right. There's only a trailer. But it looks decent so far.

Good lord, you guys sure seem a tad...behind...on things. Disney probably didn't even have to license people to it: companies probably lined up/paid to get their IPs included. Fun fact: That zombie in the trailer was the one from House of the Dead.

That's what I'm talking about, there's also a purple rhino from Altered Beast in there: They seem know what they are doing, it's like Roger Rabbit with video games (and no human actors).

The fact that the zombie wasn't even a generic character blew my mind.
I agree, they're doing this completely right. I haven't seen a movie in over a year, but I'll see this one on opening night.
So the question is, will these official licenses carry over to the inevitable Wreck-it Ralph: The Video Game?

Doubt it. That is, unless they become main characters of the thing, too. They just need to rent out some Fix-It Felix Jr. cabinets to Chuck E. Cheeses and Dave & Busters.

I have to admit this does look pretty good, but why did they portray Zangief as a villain?

I wish that, beyond the big-name video game character licensing, this didn’t just look like another pop-culture-reliant CG kids movie
I was surprised to see fucking bowser and robotnik in there, but really this does not look very funny/good.
