Film reviews ruin movie experiences. Sad

The actual story looks lame as shit and hilariously cliche/uninspired.

This movie would not exist without the video game theme.
It would be Yet Another Shitty Movie about "washout trying to start a new life".

I'll be impressed if they manage to do anything clever with the video game theme to give the story new meaning. However I kind of doubt they will, based off the trailer.

Looks like the Yet Another Bad Guy Who Wants To Be Good Movie. It'd be even more humorous on that matter if Dreamworks writers were hired.

Welcome to the internet. Where people pretend that their gut feelings are rock-solid facts, and better than the gut-feelings of everyone else. And of course it's a big no-no to point out these gut feelings are gut feelings!

Just like politics, but worse... well, better, because it has little real-life consequences.

Because all other things being equal: positive > negative.

The internet would be a much nicer place if people spent less time commenting on things they hate.

for me , if it's an american animation movie, it will be terrible.
American animation is always either for children or a nerdfest.

I think the American perception is certainly that animation is for children (or nerds) compared to say, France or Japan where it's taken seriously as an art form. Modern animation was basically invented by Americans so it's odd that this should be the case... but there are plenty of great films being made by American studios.

Have you ever watched King of the Hill

That said, movie looks dumb. Pop culture references are usually a sign your movie will be terrible and rely on them as a crutch.
