Someone should make a League of legends-esque game, but make all the champions be people from tigsource. Also, have diferent classes. The battlegrounds would be like these weird landscapes that represent the thread. I can just see it, Paul Eres fighting Phubans while Adam Atomic and Derek fight over who gets to slay Eva(A neutral mob) to get the Tor-browser-buff.

What abilities would you have if you were one of the champions? What would others have?

After losing a match, Paul Eres champion should proceed to automatically create a 50-page long thread here on TIG about how enemy team won because they can afford to go to IGF.

The Indie Game Legend 2?  Where's Phubans when you need him?  I'm so pooped out of MOBA games lately.  Everyone and their pet dog are making them

Me and John Sandoval will be developing a MOBA RPG this fall.

Thank you for being patient through this friendly public service announcement. That is all.

big community games like this are notoriously prone to failure (see: balding's quest or whatever its name was) due to the scope and responsibility issues. it's a good thought tho

no, small ones often get completed, it's mainly big ones that have this problem

for instance, in the ohrrpgce community, there are plenty of community games that succeeded and plenty that failed; those that succeeded tend to be smaller in scope, or episodic / recurrent (like a yearly event)

I never said this should be a community game. And in fact, I once led a community game on the game maker forums. The third Gmcg. It failed just like the other 2 but we had more success than anyone else before us. And we only failed because we didnt have our own forum(all sort of legal reasons). But no, I was thinking like, some guys are making a moba game and for kicks all the champions are people from tigs.

You should feel stupid, because it's the first google search result.

Plus one for consoles.

This would be an...interesting concept.

To be honest, I really never liked the idea of using indie "celebs" as characters for games.  I think this perpetuates a separation of the community rather than just focusing on helping each-other make good games.  The idea of using characters from various indie games however is far more interesting to me.

Using Indie "Celebs" as characters for the game is actually fun because it's a game you made for you, and for this community, specifically. You didn't intend all the others to get that, just this little inside joke on everyone.

The Spriter's Resource had that SSB community project that never came to life because everyone was too busy with their own shit. Nobody was getting paid and the demands were too high. However, now they're running The Fighter's Resource which is a game where they put their fucking selves in it. The demands were little and the spriting style was easy to adapt to. The progress is speeding up nicely.

Basically in a community you care more about yourself and your own work rather than joining forces with others.

In that case, indie narcissists unite!
