Not to derail (okay, to derail), but I wonder if anyone's picketed at one of their family member's funerals.

The thing is, from what I've seen, most of the time he comes off as a genuinely interesting, passionate and nice guy. You're letting the negative aspects of his personality overshadow the positive, to the point where you're going to miss a big important chunk of IG:TM because of it. (he doesn't say anything that could possibly offend the public in the movie, by the way)
oh, i was kind of joking about skipping over the phil fish part, if that's what you mean? i doubt i'd go through the bother of using the fast-forward button and there are a lot of people who are nice in real life and jerks on the internet, sure. from what i gather that's true of him too. but i can only really judge him based on my own interactions with him and what i've seen of his interactions with others. for instance, he said that if he ever met me he'd spit on the floor near me and walk away. over the years all the aggressive stuff he's said kind to people of adds up and creates a sort of internet persona; i think that even being nice in real life isn't an excuse for being nasty online. internet trolls are also likely often nice people in real life too, but that doesn't excuse their youtube or tigsource frontpage comments

it wouldn't surprise me; there are actually people who follow them around and have supportive signs now, and signs like "god hates fred phelps" and "god loves everyone" etc. i have the feeling though that they are so dedicated that such picketers wouldn't faze them in the least. they strike me as extremely emotionally strong as a trivia: one of the documentary makers who set out to make a documentary about them eventually became brainwashed himself and joined the cult. it's a pretty powerful thing

What the hell is that supposed to accomplish? That has to be the least threatening threat I've ever heard. What did he plan to do for an encore, throw you dirty looks from 30 feet away? E-mail you angry emoticons? Mumble at you when you aren't looking? Don't fuck with that guy, he's a killer. as a trivia: one of the documentary makers who set out to make a documentary about them eventually became brainwashed himself and joined the cult. it's a pretty powerful thing
I think we all choose our meaning in life, and even when it isn't the most beneficial one sincerely taking up a conviction of any sort tends to create a powerful momentum. On another note, I've come to love how the topics in TIGS tend to go all over the place. Topics here are like a box of Cracker Jacks, if you keep digging you're bound to find the mystery prize.

You do that today after visiting a fast food and someone might get killed.

Depending on the fast food it could be the fart recipient that dies.

Give me a reason why I should be pissed at Phil. I don't get it. unless he broke the dress code at my wedding by insisting on wearing his scarf indoors, or revealed by way of his capacities as best man to the assembled wastrels in the many tongues of europe (phil fish is an educated, poly-lingual man) that i am super joe, or about any times i have soiled myself, or any other embarrassment that may cause the shawl to pop straight off of the potato looking heads of whichever wrinkled, northern-european sadsacks would come to watch the spectacle of my marriage, i can't think of a single one

It's no more amazing than you staying up 'til the crack of dawn honking on your meth bulb, I'll admit.

this isn't about your productivity, or my prodigious meth habit that i just found out about, this is about phil fish, and what we can do to support him

I loved it, really inspiring to see people so passionate about what they are doing. No coincidence that the 3 people they were following became massive hits.
It was great to see the development of braid, one of my fave games.
