Hey everyone!

Wild Matter is a base-building game set on a distant planet.

Development has started not too long ago so I thought I'd make a devlog here.

You are a pioneer in a freshly discovered sector in space and your goal is to build a sustainable
settlement on one of the planets in this region.

Yeah, well screw you! I'll make my own colony. With blackjack, and hookers! In face, forget the colony!

In all seriousness though, this looks pretty neat. I like the concept, and welcome cows in space. How deep are planning on going here? I would like to see some factors that affect colonization, such as the lack of an atmosphere and the need to terraform it or something along those lines.

Looks good though! Keep it up.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies.

I do have some plans for the hazardous environment one might expect on a dangerous planet but these concepts
are still super early. But as long as the scope of the game doesn't grow out of proportions I plan on going pretty deep into this kind of stuff.

Most likely yes! I already have combat implemented, but obviously plans
might change later on.

Here's some laser combat

I have to admit, I actually kinda like the look of the placeholder models.

The past few days I've been experimenting with the mechanics of citizen management and I think I have a lot of stuff figured out. It's hard to sort out all the stuff I want to do with what's actually reasonable to implement for one person.

Anyway, here are some things I've been working on:

Rain and plantations with plants growing at breakneck speeds.

Gathering different resources.

Looks like you're making really quick progress on this! I second the comment that the placeholder stuff looks nice, particularly stuff like the crops, buildings and rocks

It's been a while since I last posted, but there has been quite some progress since then.

Here are some villages that are just starting out.
