Nice game idea.
I really like the walls and rock sprites. But the rest just looks off. Mostly because it looks like it doesn't belong in the same game.

Here is what I imagine it should look like.

I also fixed that red bomb reflection that came out of nowhere.

Great updates on the sprites Green!

We are kind of going down a cartoon but gritty route. Not sure if you saw this earlier post with the dirt filters etc. Anyhoo will have a pixel push and see. But THANK YOU LOADS for your edit, it's amazing and much respected  Coffee

Just another screen shot. It's a bit slow going with other commitments but work continues. A drive on arcade action runs through it's blood. A re-gig of the game engine is also under way to hopefully use more of Stage3D's speed, also drawn about a million hats  Smiley

Found this through IndieGames.com. The game's looking great, and the idea sounds solid. I agree with green's sprite edit - I think the sprites currently look boxy and have some odd color choices (the outline color for the sprites in the 2 screenshots ago, for example). Keep up development!

Yeah, I can just agree - I love the minimalistic style.
I really think you could increase the saturation on the characters sprites, but thats just being nitpicky.
Looking forward to this, keep them coming.

Oh, that is sleek! I'm loving the style of this, I can't wait to see it all in action. Anything in particular you look forward to getting implemented in this?

Got some real steam on to get the pre beta build done. Today was the first time of seeing explosions, with particles, with sound and ... mud splats being thrown up! It's one of those moments when you just look at each other and grin saying "Yeeeaassssssss!"

Hope to get a screen cast up soon. It's crunch time.

Been playing around with it a lot today, have a lot of the game together now. Playing with a new mode of pick ups, mutators. So things like reverse controls, speed up, slow down, extra damage etc.

A new year and back on it. We have a renewed mission to complete this game and we hope this week to have an actual playable beta out! A lot has happened, with game play additions and tweaks.

- You can place a bomb / item and now kick it
- Mutator icons drop in allowing different abilities
- Coins ... blow something up and get rewarded with coin rush showers!
- Carrying icons, to free up the hud these have been moved to players
- Log feedback - AKA Quake 3 area style

Sitting down and looking at what's been achieved we have probably taken on the most complex build idea we could have come up with! When you read the articles about indie developers saying 'stay clear of multi-player games' as an early release we understand why. Anyway it's been a learning experience and we hope you get some fun out of it also Smiley

Stay tuned, hopefully a lot more updates in the next few days ...

 Smiley

Going to be pulling some late nights this week. It's amazing just how complex multi-user games are, like if a player leaves a match, then rejoins, or a new player joins half way through, working that all out has taken some head scratching!

Getting the site going as well ...
