When I think of psychology and my own games, I always look at this picture:

There is a tremendous amount of sadness in his face, although it is masked with a smile. When I'm working on a cutscene, I'm always thinking of ways in which I could deeply affect the player on a purely psychological level. I only have to look at that picture and I am reminded of everything that upsets me and makes me angry - I take those things and see how they relate to certain aspects of my game.

Using these comparisons, I am able to turn my generic game ideas into something that I think resonates with players on a psychological level.

hopefully you get a good teacher. i had very good psychology teachers at my university so i enjoyed the courses a lot, but my mother took psychology and hated it because her teacher was boring. but i think this applies to all subjects, not just psychology

It also depends on a relationship of student then their teacher

Learning psychology seems like a good way to think about how players can connect with your games and stories beyond the usual fiero. You could do something like impart shame by putting the player in a situation where they don't necessarily have to respond to an action because someone already is, like in the Kitty Genovese case. Although good luck getting players to feel like they don't have to act, considering most players want to do everything possible at all times.

Maki-chan, that boy is just someone who annoyed some people in the pixel-art thread and then made multiple troll accounts. Because of the time you signed up and started posting, people suspected that you might be him. It's unfortunate that you signed up when you did but it would be a shame if you were turned away from TIGForums because of a mistake like that.

The information has been given by Vincent himself and that picture of him is his DeviantID. But can we please move on now? It doesn't matter whether Maki-chan is just Vincent trolling or not.
