I’m a published writer (and seasoned gamer) looking to develop some more interesting and interactive kinds of storytelling. To that end, I'd like to familiarise myself with different aspects of the game-making process by offering my services wherever I can be of use. I'll happily write storylines, introductions, branching dialogue, backstory, character descriptions, press releases etc.
My stories have been published online many times (most recently
here - more links can be found on my blog
here) and I've dabbled in interactive storytelling with
The Tower of Clavius Boon, a spoof of the old Fighting Fantasy gamebooks from the 80s. A lot of my work is fairly experimental in tone but I also write more conventional stories with the emphasis on character and plot. Some examples of these have been collected in
this anthology (no need to pay for it – I'll email the stories to anyone interested).
I’m already working on a couple of quite involved visual novels, as well as holding down a full-time job, so I'm unlikely to commit myself to anything big unless I absolutely love it. I promise to put my all into anything I do accept, however, and if I agree to it then I guarantee I'll complete it.
If English isn’t your first language then I’m also happy to look over and tidy up any short pieces of writing in need of an edit. I’ve taught English for many years and have previously helped to translate work from Chinese, French and Spanish.
If anyone is interested, you can reply in this thread, PM me or drop me an email - I don’t mind how you contact me. (EDIT: That's not quite true - if you leave a cryptic message on my bathroom mirror, I'll freak out).
