Schmiede
http://schmiede.ca/ is very interesting media and arts festival that's taking place every September in Hallein, Austria. It's a creative festival, and you got little more than a week to create something and present it at the last day. I've been there five years now and done pretty much anything from photography
http://www.flickr.com/groups/schmiede/pool/ to film to programming web apps, and I enjoyed it every year. The location is an old industrial building, the ~150 participants are from all over the globe and arts. Lots of musicians (Red Bull Music Academy is a long-term partner).
This year I'd like to create a video game and the organizers allowed me to invite a few people to join this gamejam, if we work on a single game or many is upto us. The local uni has game studies but I'd love to make this a truely international meeting. To cut discussions short: Let's use Unity3D and publish to the internets on the last day.
What you need to do to take part:
* Have some knowledge in gamedev. The more the better but it's also about learning new things
* Write me a sort of application mail:
[email protected]* Take time off work for September Thu 13th to Sun 23rd
* Get a cheap flight to SZG
I can provide free accommodation if required.
I hosted a gamejam before
