Inventory and item system is kind of in working condition now =). Next stop would be trading, and the ability to move stuff between containers.

Man that looks great. Any idea what the music will be like? I couldnt help imagining how cool it would be if as night falls the music fades into a different track.

This looks awesome.  Unfortunately I only get about 6FPS when I try to run it on my laptop, so I guess I'll have to make do with just looking at the pretty pictures...

im sorry to hear that, what kind of gpu & cpu do you laptop have? , when starting it...did you wait for a while to let the world load an physics object settle? having some problems with very low framrate the first like 10 sec or so, need to look into that.

yea have some ideas, was thinking of a more futuristic Tangerine Dream like soundtrack when you fly around in your hightechy transport thingy. but when you just walk around the dessert i dont really know, but it has to be some epic kind of music =D, but then again its all about the immersion and feel of the game. maybe playing music all the time is not the right thing to do. maybe just play some music when say the sun sets etc.

It is a:
Acer Aspire 5750
Intel Core i5-2410M 2.3GHz with 'Turbo Boost' up to 2.9GHz
Intel HD Graphics 3000, up to 1760MB Dynamic Video Memory
6GB DDR3 RAM

So, it's not particularly brilliant but it does the job and runs most modern games OK with medium-high graphic settings.  I'm taking the loading-up period into account - for the first ten seconds or so it was more like 3-4FPS!

oh , i actually have an Intel HD Graphics 3000 in my acer laptop. And yea its slow, i get about 10 fps looking over the landscape and about 35 looking straight up. i also have and nvidia GT 530M in that same laptop and that gives me about 40 looking over the landscape, and about 45 straight up.

Dev update!

Just got our first test ship model in....this is just a fast test model..but still it looks really awesome =)

Night time, what lurks in the dark?

Hanging out on the dunes.

First I thought it would be a big problem with the collision detection. Since we want to be able to move seamlessly from the outside of the ship to the inside, the ship really needs to be a fully dynamic body. Doing mesh VS mesh collisions on dynamic objects is not the cheapest of computations. But luckily bullet includes the GImpact library which seems to handle this task very well. I wonder how large ships we can do before it starts to crumble. ( I'm planing flying carriers here  Kiss )

I have also done some work on the evil rat bastards, they now drop rat meat that you can eat to regain some energy. They also attack you when you least except it.

Love the day-night cycle.

I already feel the creepy terror as night settles in.

How much of that skybox was tools and how much was you?

I know only a little about hyper-realism.

(sci-fi vibe in the flyer)
