The year is 3174. There is only one government across all of the world. World peace is a reality. There is no hunger. Cancer has been cured. Earth is an amazing place to live... But there are still problems. Most importantly, Earth is running dry of fossil fuels and natural resources. The United World government has sent you, a member of Space Agency 17, to scout distant galaxies and send fleets to planets with high amounts of resources to keep Earth alive. However, you have ran into a small problem. The cluster of galaxies you were sent to explore inhabits a gang of extraterrestrial creatures that SA-17 has dubbed "Space Pirates". They have heard of your plan and are eager to stop you from treading on their territory.



What does this game have to offer so far?
-Randomized level generation
-A variety of enemies
-Combat (with missiles!)
-Buying/Selling Items
-Extraterrestrial Travel




CURRENT CONTROLS:
-WASD to move around
-UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT to fire missiles
-SPACE to interact
-ESC to pause
-press R while paused to restart

What is it being made in?
-ActionScript 3.0 using ChevyRay's Flashpunk alongside Paint.NET and Photoshop for graphics

Made changes to the thread, removed my previous posts and other things.


Going to try and post more here, rather than on Twitter. Tell me what you think of the idea! Gameplay is looking good (to me) so far.
My current goals with this project include adding more enemies, more planet types and sizes, more levels, an ending, and a scoring system. Polish isn't so important right now, as I'm focusing on gameplay and the like. I'll be saving polish for later.

I have a friend up in Alberta who I've asked to create a soundtrack, and he will be working on it (I hope) once I start the polishing process.
