I'm doing a neo-modernist platformer with an emphasis on deep feelings, minimalism, and the Perlin noise algorithm.

While I can see some issues with a lot of the design points outlined in the OP, abandoning these aren't a hard and fast rule by any means.  For example, a game where you go in knowing that you're going to customize your character via choices and skilltrees can be fun, since sometimes you want that sort of thing.

I remember in Beyond the Beyond how you got cornered by the evil badguy and had to, for no reason at all, solve a sliding tile puzzle to escape, or be forced to basically fight a "You Can't Win" battle.  It was stupid as heck

The problem is in the implementation of these things rather than in the concepts themselves. But of course, you already knew that.

Because in my games you have to think. Yeah, I know that's dumb.

But feel free to elaborate if you are actually serious about it.

^This.

This list isn't going to be really helpful unless you explain your reasoning behind it, and clarify the ambiguous parts, such as what you mean by "choice" - if you were to remove all choices from a game you'd be left with a movie, since there'd be no interaction. Also, elaborate on what you define as a quest system, since in its broadest sense a game that gives you something to do is giving you a quest, and if you removed all that then you'd be left with a sandbox, which you also list as something dumb.

eva removes all choices of a game to be a game. I don't see why you are directing these things to me. Direct them to eva.

Also nothing wrong with quests in a game. Gothic shows how to make them better motivated by being more creative than in Skyrim/Morrowind.
