in too many robots there's an arrow pointing at you (but not the others), and the others are color-coded, but it might be better with everyone having a different arrow?

Anyway I'll be sure to apply these tips to my new retro style FPS which uses 2-bit pixel art for textures and it's set in the Mushroom Kingdom and also there is only one height plane so you can relive Wolfenstein 3D and your childhood will come alive again thanks to the glorious chiptunes utilizing the full power of the Nintendo Entertainment System's hidden 32 channels of sound. Also there is a plot twist at the end where you're actually the villain and the princess was running from you.

Remove the 2-bit pixel art and the Mushroom Kingdom thing. Also, the NES only has 32 channels if you use the VRC7, VRC6, FDS, and MMC5 expansions, if I'm correct! Unless you forget the n106?Huh?

i post another adendum to quest

i not give credit where its dum... that is rockstar gamz red ded redemption... where you encounter a "quest" on your journey n its seamless... theres still 2 problems with it: 1) its uninteresting. 2) it happens way too often. antoher example is fallout 3 when some dumz try to kill you. that one is a little better but also happens way too often. these encounters still suffer from being systematic... bringing me back to the main issue i have with quests.

I bet if you get a "non-systematic"-quest you will complain how it is not systematic. If you manage to cope with Gothic2 (a true rpg) you might see what I mean.

My game will be played on 2 cartridges simultaneously, each with 2 pulses + 1 triangle + 1 noise + 4 magic sample channels using that SuperNSF thing or whatever it's called + 6 VRC7 FM + 2 MMC5.

Anyway I still don't get how having a lot of different ways to approach the same situation is really a bad thing but w/e. Unless you're specifically talking about systems that make you "lock into" a specific type of role.

this list isnt definitive of whether i'd uninstall or not but thats making me make a hard choice that carrys through the rest of the game which is another annoyance. i don't know what i'd rather have. if the game is strong enough for me to beat despite having every shitty thing on this list then they did a good job masking the shittyness (polishing a turd works.)

i dont even see anything wrong with that. i like choices in games, especially permanent ones. i never "regret" them either. i dont have to play every game "perfectly" or w/e. i like customizing my character (tho i dont like the bad shit that often comes with it, like grinding)  and i like the idea of having more than 1 playable character to choose from. a lot of my fave games feature mechanics like that.

eva you say choice is the opposite of entertainment but it sure is entertaining to me.

i think choices work best when they aren't formulaic -- for instance the choices in planescape were each individual choices, it never felt like there was a formula behind it. whereas with fallout 3 i sometimes got to formulaic feeling: there was a way to talk yourself through a situation, and if that failed there was a way to shoot yourself through a situation. sometimes where was a way to hack or lock-pick your way through a situation too but those weren't as common, 80% of the time everything could be solved either through dialogue choices or bullets

but yeah a lot of this depends on personality. many people (including eva) don't realize that other people exist and that the reason games they find boring exist is because other people find those games fun. i think people like eva secretly believe that nobody can find a game fun that they don't find fun unless there's something wrong with them, and nobody can not like a game they like unless there's something wrong with them too
