Hi everyone!

This is my fist post in the this forum, my name is Bruno R. Marcos and I just wanted to say hello with my last and just released game:
CAVENAUT
An action adventure game with a vintage shape, where you play as a spelunker entering caves, mazes, underground rivers and many more.

You can download it FREE at my webpage: www.bruneras.com.

or check the trailer here:

Hope you like it!

Cheers!.

Pretty cool, I liked how precise you had to be to get past the large number of enemies.

Fixed a bug in the alien base armoury room, uploaded the fixed version.

Thanks to Aquin for the bug alert.

Well, yes.

My site went down for a couple of hours due to a great download demand, mostly caused when Terry Cavanagh recomended it on his Twitter.  Smiley

Works fine now.

Hi there, long time reader, first time poster.

I'm officially stuck in Cavenaut, and I am unsure whether this is intended in the game.

There's a two-room combination in the "alien armory base", one with two keyholes and both rooms with "computers" to shoot out and a "boss robot" to kill for the key.

Try as I might, I can't manage to complete both rooms without dying in between. It takes me a few attempts to get one key from one room. However, when I die, both rooms get reset and the key from the other room is gone from the inventory, too.

Am I missing some sort of trick or am I just incapable to do what the game expects from me?

Grateful for any pointers

Sorry, there is no trick for this part, that is how was ment to be, this part seems to be the most difficult for people (in the next room after that you get a "new weapon" that makes things easier), but let me give you some tips:

Aliens won't shoot you if they don't see you, use this in your advantage, keep hidden behind walls and only shoot at the nearest alien, don't go Rambo style or you will surely die. You can see the diference in their movement speed. Once they have seen you they will go after you unless you get out of their sight for a little while.

In the room on the left there is a space between machines in the top and bottom walls, a perfect spot to hide.

Also when you hit an alien it will freeze a little instant so try to kill him right away (3 shoots with the gun).

Good luck! Wink

but let me give you some tips:
Thank you. In hindsight, I should have realized the behaviour change in the aliens (with the headsparks and all). It's just that it didn't cross me after so many screens of quick timed actions to have patience for a change. After a few attempts I got there.

Also, thank you for the game, one of the loveliest I have played in a long time.

Thank you for a great game.  I really enjoyed it right up until the final boss.  After dying about a hundred times, I had to quit.  I don't know if you're still taking advice at this point, but it would be nice if after you destroyed a generator in the boss fight, it stayed destroyed after you died.
